This is what should win Online GOTY...not Halo 3, UT3, TF2...ETC

World In Conflict....dont get me wrong, the other games are old good too....but none of them are actually revolutionary in their Generes.....As an RTS...WIC does many unseen things in its online mode...in particular a class based, 16 player RTS with join in progress...this is something that previously was unheard of in an RTS....unlike all of the features in the other games...which while good...dont exacly change the way FPS's are played....

not to mention all the standard features of online games are done top notch in WIC also...like Stat tracking, leaderboards, medals/awards, Very nice quality VOIP...ETC.

actually one feature which I was surprised to see was that the game let you talk to other people in the server, even while the game was loading....

so anyway...who else agrees?

Starcraft and WC3 were some of the best online games I have ever played. RTS can be extremly fun online and they usually last alot longer than most FPS.

i dont think being original or creative should be above fun factor and being addictive.

Unreal 3 and Halo 3 arent new. But they are amazing MP games. They added enough of a new feel. in the case of Halo it got a community feel that console games usually dont have or have ever had.

I mean they are an absolute blast and if they are superior MP games without being revolutionary they deserve it. jg4xchamp

I doubt it, I really don't see the point of online RTS anyway. You can set up and manipulate skirmish matches way easier, and you can turn them off whenever you feel like it ;)USSJAndrew

because RTS AI can get very predictable after a while...and once you find any flaw in how they are programed...which is bound to come up eventually....you can easily beat them.

Online GOTY contenders should include Warhawk. That game's really fun.

TF2 frankly doesn't have enough maps (only six? COME ON), and there are some balancing issues at this point.

Halo 3 doesn't do enough new to qualify as GOTY. I'm sure it'll win anyways.

I do believe WiC will actually win Online GOTY simply because it has combined the concept of a RTS with the multiplayer furiousity of a FPS and wrapped it up in a neat little "teamwork will win games quick and easy" ribbon.

I think i agree.

The multiplayer is simply amazing for an RTS, its very action packed, and games are no more than 20mins most the time so you can have quick games when time is short.

Ive racked up more hours on WiC than TF2 so far, its just so addictive, but TF2 is damn good too.
