as well as other sites reveiws count. you are spending your hard earned money on a game. games are expensive (50+ in us) if

you were to choose your own doctor, would you choose the one that got abot a 70 and barley made it, or the one that got the

95 or 100? im not saying do not buy poor rated games, but if your gonna buy a game, buy the best, for the best. i know there

are less than 10000 people on this site, but use your common sence. if a game gets a 4.5, 6.0, 2.0, the reveiwer is telling you

not to buy it for a reason. thats just something to think about.

I feel bad for people who only buy by reviews to see if they will buy the game.

The reviews are a small part for me, actually playing the games determins if im gonna buy it, either i like it or not, i dont go on other peoples opinion alone

Reviews only count if your undecided about a game, if you are really looking foward to the game then you wouldn't care what anyone says.

peoples opinoins also count. if every site said halo was terrible and gave it 4-6, do you think there would be over 5 million sold?

the format of your message is very poetic, yet it lacks the iambic pentameter necessary to give it flair

This is why people should use gamerankings or metacritics. Just like seeing a doctor, you always want a second or third opinion on anything.

WORST ANALOGY EVER!!!!!!!!!!

A review is an OPINION of 1 PERSON.

A Student scoring 70 or 95 on a TEST IS FACTUAL and shows how smart the student is...or lucky.

As long as games get above a 7.0, i'll play them. anything other than that is personal opinion of the reviewer, and doesn't affect my purchasing decision.

A study done a few years ago showed that reviews actually have little impact on sales. I think marketing, brand appeal, and favorable shelf placement are much bigger factors. That is why games like Okami flop while 50 Cent: Bullletproof makes big numbers. Or why Mario Party 8 has outsold Trauma Center on the Wii.

you are owning yourself here!!......you say there are less than 10,000 people on this website yet 5 million people have bought halo games, thats a big difference, the majority of gamers arent members of sites like gamespot/ign, in fact out of all my mates I'm the only one who viws gaming sites.

most people just buy games because the ads look cool or from word of mouth.

If I judged my purchases solely on reviews, I wouldn't have played so many awesome games.

I trust gameplay videos as my source of judgement more than anything.

And I'll take user reviews over website reviews.
