Here is the reason that Sony is being defeated by Microsoft and Nintendo

They are charging about $85 for a @*#$ing screw. If thats how much that screw really cost them to manufacture then they really need to find a different manufacturer of their screws. Sony needs to stop Nickle and diming everyone and get back to what made them so popular...................... the gaming. Over the past few months Sony has really been disappointing me. I used to be a total Sony fanboy but after the PS3 that has all gone away. I am now pro Xbox and pro Wii. I own both a 360 and a Wii and think they are both fantastic systems. And I have no plan whatsoever to get a PS3 anytime soon. Sony would have to pay me to take one of those systems. And if Sony is going to be charging me $85 for a replacement screw, then I think that it is a lot smarter idea to avoid having to be  charged outrageous fees such as that one. As of so far both Microsoft and Nintendo have been great about replacing and fixing my systems. LONG LIVE THE WII!!

Yes, a very smart move.  When companies make profits off of a project, they do two things 1. They give dividends (sometimes), and 2. They reinvest the income into developing more projects, so as to maintain and grow the company.  Did you honestly think that when a company makes money off of a project, like SOny and its PS2, that they spend it all on snackpacks?

yeah they are really screwing the customer... they are selling a high end gaming device+a blue-ray player at a 300$ loss per system in a market that previously only had cheap blueray players for 900+$ oh damn sony please stop screwing us... *sigh*

While the PS3 is expensive and every lemming on here will say "I buy gaming systems to play games, so its a rip"... well then just don't buy it problem solved.  The fact that lemmings use price as a criterion for why PS3 sucks is just beyond me.  If your just going to rip on it and not buy it why should the price matter that it costs 600$+... is it that you would have bought it if it were less (I highly doubt it if your on these boards bashing it)?  The fact that it has a small library is valid or that the first party games are being delayed also valid... but claiming ownage over price is pointless.

I didn't say sony was going to fail completely, just with their videogame devision. They are very successfully with everything else that they do and I support them in all of that. But it seems like their console and video game devision will not last much longer. Now I know they will not fail because of this one single screw, but sony is just charging everyone way too much just for an entertainment system. Nintendo are the geniuses of the century, they hit a grand slam. They made a console that is fun, cheap, has great games, and can be enjoyed by the whole family. If sony wants to get back into the competition with Nintendo and Microsoft they need to lower the price of the system and try to secure some exclusive titles that people will want. I was really pulling for sony. When they first announced the PS3 I was stoked but as time has went on they are disappointing me more and more. Don't get me wrong, the PS3 is a fantastic piece of hardware I wouldn't mind having it, but for the price they are asking for it is just unbelievable. Hopefully things will be better soon.

You know... I have to agree. Back when the NINTENDO REVOLUTION was announced, I was sort of shocked. The best Nintendo had to offer was in essence it's old back stock of games for download. But PS3!!! WOW! The CELL! A super computer! A MINI GOD! ... what I have learned in the time from that announcement to the actual release of the systems is that Sony could screw up an anvil with it's bare hands.

PSP... I own one. I love it. But those advertisements!

 Who remembers the "IT'S PORTABLE CHEESE YOU CAN LISTEN TO!" ads. Wow. WTF?!? Or the viral video campaign, "All I want for christmas is my PSP!". A thirty year old dude pretending to be in high school, begging his mother for a psp, while he's living in a new york loft apartment.

My specific problems with the PS3 are of course, cost and games. There really aren't any games I like out yet. Ratchet and Clank on the horizon, but my BIG seller has always been Devil May Cry 4... which is now slated to be available on 360 as well. Until their catalogue of games increases, I'm not interested in shelling out that much money for the system.

I think Sony's biggest enemy is Sony. I have faith that this year, they're going to come back. Not "STRONG", but they'll start the upward momentum as titles are released and come to the front.

that's because of all the R&D it taken to put out the PS3. Same thing happed with the PS2.

you said it, cheap. Nintendo made a cheap console that just doesn't have the specs to keep up in the long run.

You know what I find surprising .... Sony is taking losses with their PS3 .... MS is only just making profits now ... Nintendo, though comming last last-gen were still making profits every quarter ... you can see what company is the best at business ... daqua_99
