Im a XBOX 360 owner, I love the thing. I prefer it over the PS3. Eventhough the PS3 is the only gaming console made by sony I have YET to purchase. What troubles me is that I read a bunch of post about how the 360 is better than the PS3 and vice versa. Still I believe that they are equals, if one is better then its not by much. NOW.....im changing my mind about the entire thing.

PS3 has to be better than the 360. WHY? C'mon....there are 2 types of XBOX 360s....ones that ARE broken...or ones that WILL be broken in the NEAR future. With emphasis on the word NEAR. I LOVE the 360...I attempt to play Mass Effect ...one of the Greatest RPGs IMO...and what do I get? DISC UNREADABLE. Try any one of my discs...DISC UNREADABLE. I'll put a game in and the stoopid thing tells me...put this disc in a xbox 360.....WHUUTTT? It is a XBOX 360. They have no answer for this...just send you a coffin to place your game in, and it respawns a month later. The best they can give you is a month xbl. Sheesh.

C'mon...what does it mean if you have the 360 and you believe that it is the best console. When you cant play the darn thing. The PS3 HAS to be better. At least they can turn on their consoles without fear of seeing the red rings of death. They can place their games in KNOWING that it will play. Sony sold them a product that they KNOW will work. Microsoft sold XBOX owners a Masterpeice that breaks randomly.....OFTEN.

Im on my 2nd one, the Disc unreadable error means that my hunk of junk is about to breakdown. Thats not cool at all. How can the 360 be better? It doesnt work.

your opinion. you have a right to it. For us that own both. woot! I love my PS3. Love it. But I would be damned to get rid of my 360. So its whatever you prefer. And your asumption all 360's will break is just that. An asumption. And there are still launch consoles out there.

The same thing is happened to me. Its really annoying and if t wasn't for the RRoD the PS3 wouldn't be here right now and you would only be able to find it in the antique shop.

Your right....it is an assumption. I have 5 friends that work with me (360 owners), every one of them have had the red rings of death. I would call that more than an assumption. My friend in Memphis....RROD. Im not willing to get RID of the thing....but by having it, you basically have to KNOW that your going to have a problem down the line. Has yours ever broke down? I just have to get a PS3 to play whenever Im getting my 360 repaired.

The PS3 has the best hardware out there when it comes to game consoles and they also have the best designed cooling system for this hardware.

Your lucky. I wish my case was the same. Its not. I dont understand why guys try to defend it and make it seem as if its not like wildfire. Dude hit the Microsoft Forums...The threads are ENDLESS. Thats just guys who use online to rant about it. You gotta know its more widespread. I wish it was different. Just make the thing work. Yours works fine, im happy for you. Not so much for me.

it works both ways and your thread is an example. you stated in your first post that all 360's can be split into 2 categories - ones that have broken and ones that are about to break. that's just blowing the problem completely out of proportion and my completely healthy 360 is proof of this.

and besides, the same can be said of all electrical equipment as one day even super reliable ps2's will stop working.

Your right....I might be making it out to be worse than it is. It seems like that to me.....I sent my 360 in last year, it doesnt take long. Compaired to other consoles the 360 doesnt seem to last very long at all. Make the thing work. They break often....c'mon. Be real.

i am being real. yes, 360's are unreliable but not to the extent that people like to make out on forums and obviously different people are going to experience different levels of luck with the reliability of their systems but just because the 360 used to be unrealiable (microsoft have now made their new systems more reliable) doesn't mean everyone's are about to pack up and need to be returned and fixed

I've had mine RROD three times. I still keep it because out of all the current gen systems it does the most important thing, and it does it the best. That thing is games. It has the largest and most diverse library out of all of the systems. (Plus, I rather wait a month to play games because of RROD, than wait a year because of delays!) That last part was a joke.

Yeah that's the only thing that is holding me back from getting one atm (well that and to many good games to buy, can't afford everything) cheer up though, it's still a pretty cool box and is fun to play when it does work. ;)

Dont get it twisted....I respect your opinion. Think about it though...your own words. Why do I have to associate LUCK with a console. You state yourself that they are unreliable, they are. When you purchase it , you should feel safe that the thing should work.

One of my friends said that he doesnt get disc unreadable.....he says " I dont ever put movies in my xbox"....another said..."man you play it alot". OKAY....I watch movies, and I play it alot. So that should be the grounds of buying a 360...your good if you dont play it alot and DONT watch movies. C'mon. Thats garbage.

Yours is still standing. Fine....but they are just unreliable....its broken. E3....Microsoft souldnt say anything about any games. They should talk the entire weekend about Fixing the Broken Hardware that they sold us. Period.

Excuse how peeved I seem...because I am. I just feel beat, for my money. That alone makes me upset. Im sure I come across as such.

Are we seriously discussing the fact that the 360 has unreliable hardware as if this is a new and topical issue?

i feel that the situation can be twisted from both ends. of course people that have experienced no problems with their 360's are going to say they're mostly fine and the situation isn't nearly as bad as the internet likes to make out (like i have) and people that have experienced problems are going to say they're all either broken or about to break in the near future (like you have). neither of these statements are more true than the other and i think the real truth lies somewhere in the middle. what i also find a little irritating about this thread is that microsoft have now fiixed their rrod fault in all new 360s so the reliability of their console shouldn't be an issue when trying to decide uon which one to buy.

I guess. I just dont believe that the 360 should be in the runnings for the BEST console when it doesnt work. Or it has a mind of its own. Its like having a race and the guys that show up are all good. Still it doesnt matter how good you are if you cant finish the race. Im just upset because everytime I put a disc in it says "disc unreadable" or it tells me to "place this disc in a 360". Thats totally garbage. Microsoft is full of money hungry idiots.....not that sony doesnt have the same type of guys, At least their product works.

It happened for PS2 owners, like myself. I also find it odd that you haven't played a PSX or PS2. When did you start gaming?

If that was true...then I wouldnt be having this problem. When I turned my last xbox in for repairs they gave me one that was "suposed" to be in the newer batch. I read the forums and mine matched up to be one of the newer consoles. So I though. Maybe I figured it out wrong....I dont know. Im not getting the RRoD. Im sure it will lead to that. But NOW I just have to suffer through that until it gets to RRoD. Now its disc unreadable. Im not sure if they will repair that for FREE. Even if they did....why does it do that. Im not eating my lunch on the thing. Im not ironing clothes on it.....or using it to level the sofa. Im extremly careful with the peice of junk. I act as if its my first born child and STILL. no matter what it breaks. It has a mind of its own.

I love it. I wont get rid of it. I just have to have an alternative to it. My PSP and PS2 wont do. I just have to get the alternate to it.
