This year's E3 is shaping up to be the best one in years

E3 has been slowly dying out over the years, as more and more companies have increasingly de-emphasized it, opting instead for smaller announcement clumps, or their own events. Almost every major company used to have its own E3 presser once upon a time; by last year, that was reduced to only four on site press conferences.

But this year is different, this year looks like it might be the start of an E3 revival. Just look at the list of companies confirmed to be hosting their own pressers at E3 this year:

2. Sony
3. Nintendo
4. EA
5. Ubisoft
6. Bethesda
7. Square Enix

It's already getting exciting, it's already more of something to look forward to than last year's.

What do you think, is E3 this year going to be a more major event than it has been for a while now?

E3 is ultimately always fun in terms of different game information that comes out, but it's consistently overrated as this like mecha event of ownage or whatever (sans that Sony knife on Microsoft move a few years ago, that was legit ownage) because it's just overhyping a bunch of bullshit since no one knows the actual quality of the games being shown, or if that game will actually release in a reasonable amount of time.

This E3 better be good though, because Triple A gaming is pretty lame outside of some exception. Be it Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, EA, Activision, Ubisoft, Capcom, Square, Konami, it's been pretty dull performances and way too many sequel announcements. I want to see someone willing to take some chances. Sunset Overdrive, Splatoon, and Bloodborne (and that one comes with the caveat that it's more or less Demon's Souls 4) aren't enough. Nor should they be looked at as enough.

Um, when did Ninty confirm their event for E3? I know Sony, MS, Bethesda, and Square confirmed theirs, but...

On top of that, what do they have planned, their own stream like 2013 and 2014? Back on stage?

Will we finally get to see a FALLOUT 4 teaser? I give it 50/50.

At this point I wouldn't mind playing a Shitrim or FNV remaster on my PS4. Throw us a bone already, Bethesda!!!!!!!!

Seeing as how I have my eyes set on getting the Batman AK PS4 bundle, I hope E3 delivers, especially on the Sony and Nintendo parts.

I have low expectations for the rest except for Square Enix (new Deus Ex).

A possible Fallout 4 alone has me checking the damn calendar everyday! Hype!!!

I'm looking forward to this new first party direction from MS. I don't think they are in a market position to play the game with third party the same way they were able to with the 360. Rather than just rolling on their back and dying, they are (supposedly) showing a renewed dedication to exclusives. That's pretty exciting when you consider exactly how much IP MS does have at their disposal (and have up til now mismanaged completely).

Sony has the wind in their sails and can certainly lure third party into those big bombshells System Wars loves so much. I think they can and I think they will bring some pain in the game for MS and Nintendo. They also have quite a number of studios who have been quiet in recent years. Obviously, the hype alone has carried them far but relying on that too much could be their undoing. E3 is Sony's chance to make waves and if they squander it, that would be highly unlikely.

Nintendo.. I'm not expecting a whole lot, in all perfect honesty. They went HAM last year but their market position does nothing but suffer. They probably have one more big game to announce like Metroid or Pokemon (or both?) for the WiiU but I think back at Nintendo HQ, they really want to just march forth to the NX as soon and as big as possible. ZeldaU will be the WiiU's swan song and we already know that's a little ways off.

Yeah this year looks to be one of the better E3s in recent times especially with the inclusion of Bethesda. But we all know Ubi will have a trash showing per usual. Such a joke of a company sometimes.

Definitely looking forward to E3 this time around. Seems like the news cycle has ground nearly to a halt recently. This place could use an infusion of real topics to bitch over.

It's building up to be a good one. I'd love to see a Gears trilogy announced and a new Fallout game but there's plenty of great stuff coming up we'll get more details on. I'd love to know what this new stuff from MS is, they're increasingly desperate so they may well have some real surprises in store.

I don't have any expectations. I've never had interest in Bethesda products, so there's no anticipation for there next game from me. I'm sure one day I'll get around to playing a FallOut or an Elder's Scroll title, but I'd probably start with an earlier one.

I'll be happy with:

• Wii U Price Drop
• Metroid - low expectations of it actually being announced
• Xenoblade US Release Date
• Final Fantasy XV confirmed release data - low expectations of this happening as well

Since Sony has won the last 2 years it will be interesting to see what they do this year.

I enjoy E3, not only because of the game announcements, but because of how excited some of the people on this forum get.

I'll for sure have a System Wars Chatroom, as we did in years previous, but not sure if I will be doing the threads this year.

A Fallout 3+NV+All DLC is one of the few re-masters I actually want to happen.

The E3 culture is beginning to show its harm. It has essentially turned gaming into "watching" culture while encouraging hype culture, and the the industry marketing is geared towards that trend, which can only mean anti-consumerist.

I'm hyped for Bethesdas presentation.

Info on Visceral's Star Wars game would be awesome also.

Yeah, hopefully this E3 delivers. Truth be told, it doesn't matter. There are games that have already been announced that I'm interested in. Can't wait for that that Fallout 4 announcement, and the footage from Sony's "Project Horizon" though!

SW's style: It's funny watching cows hype up every single Sony event though. You'd think they would've learned by now.

I don't know why people get excited for e3 the same stuff happens like Sony is going to talk about sales like for the 100th time lol Sony we get it and wii don't care. Then they are going to give us more movie games and persona5 which I am looking forward to. Then Xbox 1 will be different because not getting much 3rd party love like they used to and I hope they do well. Nintendo is going to have some or a lot of surprise because it nintendo and they do the unexpected. They also will show games with great gameplay and ssb4 dlc and a lot of people will be happy and say nintendo won but it won't matter because fanboys will praise their. Brand even if they took a dump on stage and walk away and don't forget about the critics who is going to nitpick so yeah that is how i see e3 and if you don't like it then cry somewhere where no one will see you.

They haven't confirmed it yet. They have rented out a hall and have booth space though.

Meh. I'm not hyped yet. Looking forward to Nintendo and Sony as always. Square Enix and Bethesda could be good but I only really want to see KH3 and ES6.

People say that every year, and every year its hyped up beyond what is actually possible and everybody is dissapointed.

The last exception to this was the year the wii controller and million games were unveiled.

That was a while ago.

I expect this year to be the same where I'll see 2 or 3 potentially buys shown off.

meh we say this every year. If gameplay of Mass Effect 4 and Fallout 4 is shown, tho It will be boss.

Another year, another E3 for MS and Sony to show off PC gameplay disguised has console footage and some exclusives that might not be complete shit once they release

E3 has been razzle-dazzle since 2012 and considering everything is being leak, I'm just not hype as I used to be. Nintendo has the right idea, just do a press conference video, Nintendo's videos are always entertaining and they did good back in E3 2013/2014. My advice: The big 3 needs to show off new IP exclusive games, not something we already know, don't show more then 2 remasters game since 3rd party already ruin the remasters reputation, no boring press like Sony did last year, and just come in and give us a reason why we should buy your products.

I'm looking forward to Nintendo's conference.

It's been awhile since a good e3.

What I want to see:

+Gameplay not FMV

+Good original games

+Games that show potential of the current hardware

What I don't want to see:

+All CGI gameplay

+Sequels stocked on sequels

+Companies tooting their own horn

This is said every year. I'm going to wait until it finishes before coming to a conclusion.
