Do you find the WiiU appealing?

Are you still interested in Nintendo or have you moved to other systems?

Is there anything they could do to get you interested again?

Do you think Nintendo still caters to you?

I hope we get some sincere answers from those who had the system when it was in it's prime. ;)

I never had one, but my friends did. So, here I go:

  1. Yes
  2. Yes
  3. N/A
  4. Not as much anymore... Though, there are still games, that I  absolutely  want to play.

I have a SNES and I'm barely interested in the Wii U, not worth it until 2014 to me.

even though those questions have nothing to do with the SNES, i'll answer it: yes i do. i've played it and it was fun, and nintendo delivers in the "fun" aspect, so i'm buying one whenever i can.

No. The SNES was awesome, N64 had some great, classic games (still regard Ocarina of Time as one of the best games ever made), Gamecube was fun, but I only bought a Nintendo system again with the Wii. And it was a great disapointment.

Played a lot in the first year, with my gf and friends, but for the core gaming I always ended using the PS3 (or PC for some titles like Star Craft 2, Civ 5, some Total War games, etc). I can't comment on the handheld market because I never bought that kind of system.

I would only buy a Nintendo system again if they managed to get the 3rd party devs to support them again. Maybe that was the strenght of the SNES, like it was with the PS1-2-3 and Xbox 360.

I had an SNES when it was new and I still have that SNES and I purchased a Wii U at launch.

My sister is getting a Wii U just because Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World, and Mario Kart 8.

Donkey Kong Country was her favorite game on the SNES so she can't wait to play Tropical Freeze.

It has Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful101. So its existence is justified for me as a Platinum games box.

Do you find the WiiU appealing?

- The U missed the mark by a mile

Are you still interested in Nintendo or have you moved to other systems?

- Not at this point, they haven't brough back any games that I really want, and won't for too long

Is there anything they could do to get you interested again?

- Nothing short of several amazing releases of old and new IP's, new IP's in particular

Do you think Nintendo still caters to you?

- No, they cater to a much different demographic than the average 34 year old

Nope, Wii U seems like a product without direction. They should have made a more powerful box with a wiimote, nunchuck and controller pro included, basically an evolution of the Wii, and focus on making games, not controllers. Make the 3DS act as a screen and controller, the GBA did that in some games.

SNES was that, a powerful console with great games to back it up, no pretense about it.

The handhelds are where the old school Nintendo has shined through, because of their constant output of games, and innovations that are in my opinion worth it like touch and 3D. The 3DS seems like the closest thing to a SNES now.

Nintendo cares about it if they didn't they wouldn't announce it and confirm that it is going to release in North America.

SNES was the system to own back in the day with games like super mario world, chrono trigger, street fighter, mario kart, donkey kong i'm sure I left out some great ones. Doubt the wii u will be half as good as the snes was back in it's day.

Do you find the WiiU appealing? No.

Are you still interested in Nintendo or have you moved to other systems? Moved on with the PS1.  I owned a N64 too but it only got used for Goldeneye and Zelda.

Is there anything they could do to get you interested again? At this point Ninty would have to release an ultra-graphic A-rated snuff film simulator exclusive to catch my attention.

Do you think Nintendo still caters to you? They cater to nostalgics, casuals, and children.

I hope we get some sincere answers from those who had the system when it was in it's prime. ;)

Nintendo...........I grew up with you. I still remember unboxing my NES in the 80's.  I scoured every issue of Nintendo Power like it was my own personal bible.

the Wii U will look more appealing in time, as more titles come out and the price drops, but there's still more Nintendo needs to improve on with the evolution in gaming stronger DRM needs to be addressed, they've like the worst system ever designed and they've been very reluctant about improving it

Nintendo has refused to deliver what we wanted for years. I keep buying their systems because I like their games, but if I had to choose only one console and didn't have a PC, there's no way in hell I would be buying a Nintendo. I loved my SNES when I was a kid like it was my most prized possession. Might sound ridiculous, but its true. They always cheap out and don't offer the obvious evolution on features that would make their games better. Just to give an example, on NSMBU they could have had an amazing speed run system in place where you could record your runs and share them with others as proof and upload them to youtube.

Not right now. Later on down the road when Zelda/Smash Bros ect. comes out, I'll probably pick one up as a secondary console. So to answer your question, at this point, no I do not find the WiiU appealing. I probably will in a year or two however.

I can see why the Wii U has recieived such negative feedback but honestly I enjoy it. But I dont use the Wii U as my primary console (playstation user) but I still am quite addicted to Lego CIty Undercover and with so many good games coming (Pikmin 3 is a day one buy for me and has gotten nothing but positive remarks). Honestly I think sales on the Wii U would pick up if they did a price drop. I know people say that unlikely cuz its so expensive to make the game pad but I dont see why nintendo cant just drop 100 dollars off the price with game pad not included and sell the game pad for 60-80 bucks seperately and do an update to make wii controllers to play wii u games (may not be possible, I dont really know)

I grew bored with Nintendo. The SNES was Nintendo's last good console. The N64 sucked, the Gamecube sucked (but had a great controller), the Wii sucks, and the Wii U sucks.

I've been a gamer far before the SNES even, and I own a Wii U. Yes, I'm still interested in what Nintendo has to offer, mayhaps not as much. I think the Wii U is a terrific gaming console, just lacking in software atm. Played a bit of ZombiU today... havent been so tense playing a game in a very long time, last time I was so tense playing a game was RE2.

I think the Wii U will end up being a repeat of the N64... not selling overly well, but will have some of the best, most memorable games that people will cherish for a long time to come.

I still have my SNES after all this time and have every Nintendo console since.  It's what I grew up playing.  I still enjoy their games alot, but I'd say my enthusiasm for them waned a bit in recent years and most of what I play is not Nintendo.  I remember when SM64 came out - I was really excited for it and it made me want a N64 right away.  I was less excited about the GC but I still wound up getting it for the likes of Smash Bros. Melee and Metroid Prime.  With the Wii I played the Wii titles a bit but most of what I played was traditional Nintendo franchises...Mario, etc.

Now I kind of feel like deja vu with alot of what they put out - that I've already played it and now I'm playing it again.  Its kind of hard to justify the Wii U for me to play what feels like the same games all over again - and the new Wii titles I only really care for in short sessions when I'm playing with someone else, and that's it.  So yeah, I'd like to see Nintendo put out some new IPs that are more along the lines of their more traditional stuff, but manages to be something new too - if that makes sense.  I mean Mario Kart 8 looks nice and all, but I'm more interested in X at this point than anything else Nintendo has coming.  I just kind of wish they'd try a little harder to put out somethign special for their long time fans...instead it still feels like they peaked a decade or so and now it's the same stuff.  Somethign like a open world 3d Pokemon RPG on Wii U would really get me interested and I know a ton people would go for that.  It seems like it should be so easy, but it just hasn't happened.

I owned both a Sega Mega Drive(Genesis) and a SNES... to answer your questions I am interested in not just Nintendo but ALL GAMES, does Nintendo cater to me specifically?... I hope not. I still love Mario but you don't see me crying out for a top down GTA game... So the same goes for Nintendo, they need to push their games more and innovate more often and stop wasting time with 2D side scrollers. Do I find the Wii U appealing?... Least appealing Nintendo console ever in my opinion. Its menus are designed for kids, its clunky and slow... The games are borderline non existent with it coming close to its 2nd year it doesn't have one game you can say "thats why you need this console" and it doesn't even look like its coming anytime soon. Also Nintendo's decision to not push hardware power... Once the next generation is in its 1st year the Wii U will have very limited if any third party support. The console I loved the most last generation was the Game Cube... Why?... Because it had most if not all third party games and they looked great and it had the first party Nintendo games along with some third party exlusive's... Anyone remember RE4 which was out for a year on the GameCube and was the game of the generation. I know they are a business and they need to sell... Personally I think they as a company are stuck in the 90's and have abandoned chasing gamers, It feels like their priority is to keep selling first party games to western families and cater to Japan. If you are 18+ and not a fan of Zelda or Mario you are not on Nintendo's radar.

I must honestly say as a person who owned an SNES during it's time that the Wii-U does nothing for my interests. I feel that Nintendo hopped into HD console gaming too late, and even if the WiiU has decent hardware, the software is still lacking. There's absolutely no excuse for the lack of games on the WiiU, the tablet controller wasn't needed, Nintendo went Mario crazy when they have loads of franchises at hand such as Starfox, Geist, Wario, Donkey Kong, Zelda and so on. Nintendo could've even tickled nostalgia with a brand new ActRaiser game. The other part of why I don't care for it would be the fanbase. Sheep put up with rehashes and buy Mario this and Mario that and Nintendo can really only go by what's bringing sales rather than quality gaming. The current Nintendo fanbase probably only got involved with Nintendo gaming since the Wii rather than we gamers that remember the NES, SNES, N64 and GC.

Do you find the WiiU appealing?

Are you still interested in Nintendo or have you moved to other systems?

Is there anything they could do to get you interested again?

Do you think Nintendo still caters to you?

I hope we get some sincere answers from those who had the system when it was in it's prime. ;)

Zelda is the last thing I would be interested in, but Dark Souls (not the same, but close) takes care of my needs for a game in that mold.
