What what in the butt? That's awesome.
i dont like to have my games spread to different digital distribution platforms. steam is the only way for me if they dont want a monopoly they should work sth out between them.SamiRDuranSteam has sales like this pretty often. Just get the games when Steam has them on sale. Especially Titan Quest, which is a hidden gem.
question: In DOW: chaos rising did they fix the co-op system and make it so that the player joining a host's game can keep all of the items and exp earned?lawlessx
You're joining the hosts' saved game not your own. Why would you be able to transfer the progress you made to someone else's saved game?
i dont like to have my games spread to different digital distribution platforms. steam is the only way for me if they dont want a monopoly they should work sth out between them.SamiRDuranI've used few others as well(Impulse and GMG) but mostly I feel the same way, I wonder if others do as well, could be bad news for the smaller stores. Did anyone else read this? That's pretty lame, any DD service should have unlimited downloads imo, it's pretty much a standard set by steam.
question, can you redownload games after downloading them? or are you stuck like with nvidia's website and can only download them once?UnArguably
You can on most "independent" DD platforms, but AFAIK THQ's and EA's own platforms don't allow this. I know Steam and Impulse allow it, GOG.com most certainly does.
I dunno about the US, but most of these games are already dirt-cheap in retail here in Germany, so unless you are that lazy that you can't leave the house to pop out to your local game store, or if you're so impatient that you can't wait one/two days for it to arrive from Amazon, I'd get it on DVD. More bang for your buck. DoW II is €13, CoH Gold is €10, Supreme Commander is €5 and Metro 2033 is €20. I'd rather spend a few euros extra and have a hard copy with a nice box. Digital Distribution is rarely cheaper, unless you count Steam's weekend sales, which are an attempt to market DD as being cheaper.

metro 2033 is full price everywhere near me in salinas. best buy and gamestop won't hold nice sales like this, and certainly amazon doesn't have it very cheap either. :(You missed S.T.A.L.K.E.R: SoC. Its $5.
As for the sale, I'm probably going to get Saints Row 2 and Company of Heroes.
you can buy soc retail at amazon for less than $10, i'd rather buy the hard copy then buy it on thq's website. now, if it was steam... i'd gladly do it.You missed S.T.A.L.K.E.R: SoC. Its $5.

If I could back this stuff up on my own that would be nice. I wonder what the file is like when you download. I have Metro 2033 and Red Faction in my cart. The price is good but that little bit of dialog gives me a great big pause.

Did anyone else read this?thank you for posting this, this answered my question. :) only two years though, what the heck sort of crap is that? this makes me appreciate steam. It's super crappy, but you just burn off the installation files on DVDs. Still loathe it, but for $20 I picked up the Chaos Rising and Tales of Valor expansions. I like the idea of getting a few more months of life out of some games I've already spend 50+ hours with.

Good deal for those that didn't pick up the THQ pack off Steam i guess. But seriously, they only back up for two years?
That's why I'm going to register my CD keys on Steam.[QUOTE="OneLazyAsian"]

i already got almost all of those games on steams last sale, some great single prices though for people who didnt wanna buy a whole pack of games
WOW! That's a great deal. Now if only I had a credit card, or lived with my parents so they could give credit card !!! $$##
Bleh, I couldn't order from Canada, but I ended up buying from Steam because it got me excited to play a new game.
I actually looked at the THQ Store in detail today, and I couldn't stop laughing.
Most of the games there are now more expensive than their retail counterparts. To top it off, THQ charges $5 for the right to re-download. And then, they offer a service whereby you have a "backup DVD" sent to your home for another $10.
That makes it at least $20 more expensive than an equivalent retail DVD, which also has a nice manual and box.
Shocking.
Guess it was just over the weekend. Wish I'd seen it while the sale was still going on. I wouldn't have minded picking up DoW2:Chaos Rising for cheap.http://store.thq.com/store/thq/list/pc-games/categoryID.39206600 Not steam for once
