We have official reached threat Level Midnight in the current console war as microsoft's stellar showing yesterday has created an unease in the heart and soul of the SDF! As if petitions aren't bad enough, it would appear the Playstation faithful are now full stop begging Sony to go back and make a better livestream as to appease the damage inflicted by Microsoft yesterday. This article, by Sony friendly outlet Push Square details the depth of plastic worship....

Its funny how the sony friendly spin is that they are focusing only on showing games within a few months of release and Microsoft is only showing games that are years away from release... but um... No. That's easily deciphered, dogwater pr talk...

Do you think the article spells an inner discontent from Sony fans? Do you think Sony should listen to the criticism coming from the fans? As one fan puts it...., "Learn from the Xbox Showcase, Sony.... "

Can Sony learn a few things from Microsoft?

This isn't rocket science. In 2021 Sony decided to pivot to live service .( A decision that many others and myself thought was painfully stupid ). Many of the games they were developing didn't turn our how they expected and at least 4 were canceled. Those were games that would have probably been shown off this year but because they canceled them they have nothing.

I expect anything they have to show will be delayed until later in the year when they announce the PS5 Pro.

lol it's funny.

Sony has been coasting and MS show really exposed that fact. I care neither way, but good on MS for making Sony remember they they still need to do SOMETHING to earn continued loyalty from their users. It's never a free ride.

Sony can learn from MS in some ways but they are comfortable so they won't and don't plan on doing anything since they are set. Gamers facilitate companies slacking and Sony would get bely for sometime with any mind change.

@TheEroica: as a lem I'm happy I made the right decision when I decided to sell my ps5 early on. The xbox showcase blew every thing away but let's be real... the thing that matters most is the quality of the games when they do release, which we have no solid details on either.

Enough hype...give us results.

There isn't anything wrong with live service games if they actually get made.... most are ftp and are worth a chance at the very least. That being said, I'm sticking to my guess that they are holding games until the reveal of the Pro.

I understand people want kick*** showcases but, PlayStation doesn't have to show their hand at all times and they've made it pretty clear that they can reveal and release games fairly quickly. Heck, GoW Ragnarök was revealed around the same time as Hellblade 2, Fable, Perfect Dark and, Avowed and released before all of them.

What would gamers prefer: Sony not having a livestream event, or Sony having an event where they announce they have no new games coming out in the next 6 months?

I think these people are likely speaking from their pain rather than reality. Sony has dropped the ball pretty hard this generation and is easily the worst of their storied history. Its salt in the wound to see the competition tossing out hand grenades.... So the reaction is to shout at Sony for something similar.

Firgured. But then, SW would be kinda irrelevant cuz Twatter is just a much bigger SW.

We needs more products, and less (but better) service.

That's my oversimplified take on the subject of the whole situation.

You'd risk your status by signing your name to a hilarious petition that would be laughed at for all timez? Madness. 🤣

They're acknowledging you! They just think your taste in games doesn't make them enough money so they're politely declining your wishes and giving you a parting gift called Concord. Enjoy.

I moaned extremely hard in the comments section of the last State of Play. Not only on youtube, but also directly on their playstation site. I demand they take us seriously. We're beyond pissed off.

I honestly think Sony was comfortable on the mountaintop of the traditional console market and placed bets that they would win this gen easily and without much effort.

They were right...................except they didn't foresee the console market changing and no longer being about console sales. This is further evident by their statement "we believe in generations." Of course they were comfortable moving on, they knew they'd sell more consoles regardless.

Problem is, MS (and other publishers) have been moving beyond the console market for years and Sony is finally starting to try to pivot to PC, Mobile, Switch, etc.

I don't think Jim Ryan was focused on the market shifts, but was comfortable being king of the hill while the rest of the class was playing another game

No! We need a fourth competitor in console gaming and three more services because it is better to split gaming resources more than to have gamers enjoy of the options of playing on the platform of choice.😏

@saint-george:

PlayStation has released like 10+ games within 24 months of reveal this generation.

People say they have a pipeline issue and yet they're on track to release *checks notes* 9 games this year. lol

The heavy hitters are coming and we'll know more about them soon enough.

We got bloodborne, 2 years after release of PS4.

We got nothing worth remembering from PS studios 3 years into PS5 life. To fix this is easy, announce Bloodborne 2 (and Bloodborne 120fps port for those remake losers) on PS5 and nobody will care about xbox existence. Very easy.

This is what happens when you heavily switch focus to live service trash, then realize that you fucked up and cancel a bunch of games. You end up with no games. Mistakes were made!

I actually think that Bluepoint has been working on a Bloodborne remake since they were acquired, and it will be released next year for the 10th anniversary of the game. Why? Because Bluepoint has completely disappeared, 10th anniversary is next year, and Sony can't be this thick, literally everyone, across all social medias has been hyping Bloodborne remake or sequel for at least seven years straight. And i get it, those suits are completely disconnected, but you simply cannot ignore the amount of buz this game has been getting for years at this point. It will be out next year, and will be on pc as well.

@hardwenzen: People have been saying that Sony is cooking up a sequel or remake for Bloodborne for a long time now, and I don't expect them to do it, honestly. I'm also fairly certain that Bluepoint has mentioned that they want a chance to produce their own game, not remake another established IP. Don't get me wrong, I would be thrilled if Bluepoint remade BB, but I just don't see that happening.

They won't be able to create a sequel, or at least i don't think they have the talent needed. The 10th anniversary is next year, if they don't release a remake in 2025, it might not happen for another generation, but i think that they will, actually.

Always a possibility.... A from soft developed sequel would be a lightning rod though. A remake? Doesn't need it.

One question, who is going to make this Bloodborne 2?

It won't be From, their next game will have a 2 in it, but it will be Elden Ring 2. From doing exclusives is probably over now that they've had the success with Elden Ring.

BB is the kind of games that do need a remake. The original is stuck on the ps4 with a sub 30fps frame cap. A full remake that is also coming to the pc on day would be a massive announcement for Sony. Of course i'd prefer a sequel, but it ain't happening.

Bluepoint does remakes, so a BB remake or something else, they'll be releasing nothing but remakes, so its not a waste of dev hours. Not to mention that showcasing that amazing art direction with Bluepoint's engine would be insane.

@hardwenzen: I guess...? Iid be into other remakes more so than bloodborne I guess. I'd take a better performing bloodborne, don't get me wrong. It's one of the best games ever made. I just still think it looks and plays great. Needs little!

@hardwenzen: I guess...? Iid be into other remakes more so than bloodborne I guess. I'd take a better performing bloodborne, don't get me wrong. It's one of the best games ever made. I just still think it looks and plays great. Needs little!

Way too many people have been asking for a remake, and for so long. It couldn't make more sense to remake it. And after people saw how amazing Demon's remake is, its a nobrainer.

Very easy.

One question, who is going to make this Bloodborne 2?

It won't be From, their next game will have a 2 in it, but it will be Elden Ring 2. From doing exclusives is probably over now that they've had the success with Elden Ring.

Not that hard to imagine in business setting. From Soft could split their teams and hire bunch of new employees and contractors headed by their senior guys to work on BB2 while other team work on Elden Ring sequel. Sony could pay a premium not like they are cash strapped they have more assets than liabilities. Sell their whole movie or phone division I couldn't care less.
