time for a ps3?

Having been researching lineups and current games that are out I'm thinking hard about getting a ps3.

I'm not a hardcore gamer but I love my fps and shooters in general, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, MGS4, Uncharted 2, God of War 3 (how dare they try and use Gears of wars initials :) infamous, Heavy rain and Quantum theory all look REALLY good and I have run out of games to buy for the 360 I think and I cant find any games comming out this year that I will like. Also im dying to play MSG4 as it is GOTY and I love the Gran turismo series.

Only trouble is noone i know owns a ps3, I have only played it once and the only game I played was Little big planet (which was possibly the funnest laugh out loud game I have played).

What would you suggest?

I with Mortal Decay on this if you want one and can afford one and all of those games go and get one.

I'm sure you'll enjoy owning it.

Kinda sucks that all my friends are playing together online with the 360. But like you, the upcoming games for ps3 made my decision for me.

Luckily my brother recently got a ps3 and a few other ppl i know, so i got some people to play online with.

Heres hoping some more people i know join me on PSN. Don't regret buying the ps3 one bit. But I guess I can say I wouldn't regret owning a 360 either cause of all the people in my area who are online...........but the games just don't seem to be there for the future............for my tastes anyways......looks like lots of RPG and MMO players will have a good 360 year for 2009.

This is true........all the rumors say april.

It would suck to buy one now only for the price to drop $100 bucks in a few months.

And if the price does not drop, I would personally look around for a new in box 40 gig system, then go to newegg or tiger direct and get a nice size HDD for 50-75 bucks. Thats what I did =)

Yes you definitely should buy one the price is good for what it offers and once your friends come to visit you will be the envy while they have their games they don't have Metal Gear Solid 4 and Little Big Planet or Killzone 2 and once they see the capabilities of the PS3 like the graphical capacity of Killzone 2 and God of War 3 they will want to sell their 360s

For me I think 360 is lacking games, I'm a cheapskate I guess because I dont buy games too often I just play round friends houses or borrow. My friends however are hardcore gamers and have huge collections of games and I have brought all the games I really like (8 so far). I dont consider this to be an amazing selection of games seeing as I had about 20 games for the ps2 around this long after I had the console.

Anyway, I just realised I know one person with a ps3 so im off to give it a test run, he said he will convert me by just playing the opening scene of metal gear 4... we shall see.

Regarding the blueray: Blueray is advertoised everywhere in the UK now and every release on DVD has a blueray release as well, judging the differnce in quailty this feature will be a worthy buy for my big 1080p tv. (Not meaning to boast)

Yea the Dark Knight looks awesome I recently bought Rambo First Blood on Blue Ray (One of my favorite movies) it's so clear you can see the pinples on the faces once you watch blue ray and go back to dvd dvd looks blurry it's such a difference
