This says all that needs to be said.
I like milk, but only as a noun :/

Even if it were true, you would stop enjoying all the quality games this generation has given/will give us just because a dev is milking a series? Doesn't make much sense, to me. I'd simply not buy it :|IronBassWell, of course I'm not going to buy it but it shows a worrying symptom, wouldn't you say? Where's the incentive to create new adventurous games if you can just fire up the milk-machine and rake in the cash? I guess I'll have to stick to 1st party for the more experimental stuff...
EDIT: Forgotten Brutal Legend, now that is a game I'm interested in. I wonder who this imposter personating EA really is
Oh please.
If I put up a thread asking what kind of games people want, I'm pretty sure 99% of the posts will demand sequels or derivations of existing games.
People clamor for originality but will mostly buy something familiar. Honestly, I don't think people really know what they want.
Well, of course I'm not going to buy it but it shows a worrying symptom, wouldn't you say? GirsejIt has been happening for years and gaming is perfectly fine. So no, I'm not going to worry because of the existence of Lego Guitar Hero.

Nobody cares about the positives.
There could have been 100 AAAA titles last year, but Activision could've released Guitar Hero: Hannah Montana and everyone would've cried about how gaming was dying.
Maybe you guys should quit gaming. Become tissue aficionados. All you guys do is cry anyway, it's the perfect match.
whats so bad about LEGO Rock band? i mean its just gonna be as bad as the previous rock bands. music game genre sucks
DONT QUIT GAMING!!!!! im going to uni to study games devlopment etc and i need you guys to play my awesome games :'( please dont leave lol
I agree. Videogames are becoming repetitive and boring. It comes from the fact that we are craving these high rez, life-like graphics that cost millions of dollars to produce. Developers just aren't going to take a risk when they are spending that much money to make a game. You can't really blame them. It's our fault because this is what we are asking for. Next gen is only going to get worse.
The only innovation you are going to see will be found on the XBL Arcade, PSN Store and WIIware. The Wii has the potential for some unque games but it's not living up to it.
I honestly reccomend a DS. You can find games on there like nothing you have ever played before and unlike the Wii, most of them are actually good.
I think a big part of the reason why many people complain about this gen (myself included) is because the lack of variety it brought. Sure there has always been an over-saturated of genre's in every generation but i think this gen has gone over board. Not everyone likes "guns" and "hardcore" (cough cough) kill everything type games. What is it this gen with all of the people whining? I'm sure people haven't played every original title out there that is to be play. So go play those. Nobody said you had to buy Lego Rockband.

THAT isn't enough variety?

I was talking about genre's of games, those are all consoles.....and manly PS3, 360 and Wii.I was talking about genre's of games, those are all consoles.....and manly PS3, 360 and Wii.mexicangordoIf you check the games across all those consoles you'll find a lot of variety.

I was talking about genre's of games, those are all consoles.....and manly PS3, 360 and Wii.Going through the entire spectrum of those 3 consoles plus their respective online platforms you'll find plenty of variety. Like I said, you aren't looking hard enough. Anybody that complains about the large number of shooters are just concentrating on complaining about them and not looking past them. And looking at your response, you are still ignoring other options. You want to just lump the PS3, 360 and Wii together ignoring the PC, DS and PSP.
There is plenty to play. In fact there is too much to play. I'm surprised at how large the market is now. I remember when, unless you were importing, you had much few options. I really don't get the complaining.
