@Pedro: they already said it was them updating there engine for next gen. Much faster to upgrade a game that is already made than starting new. Digital foundry said it in there video. Because they ask naughty dog. Now there engine is ready to bring fractions and there next game.

I will acknowledge the quality and work. But I already played the original and remaster, I don’t need a remake.

@warmblur: not worthless because there engine is up to par with next gen. Instead of there team wasting time making a new game to update it they use a already made game. Probably took only 6 months to update it making this remake.

I wish they had just updated the graphical fidelity but kept the same facial designs.

The new designs kind of break with the lore of the game.

She definitely looks older.

It looks more realistic while the original had more of a stylized look. I expect gameplay to be a big upgrade. Hopefully they will add the gameplay changes from TLOU2.

Also take into account the cutscenes from the original were pre-rendered while these are real time.

Uhh, she isn't 20. Tess was born pre-outbreak and, the game literally takes place twenty years after the outbreak. lol

We don't know her exact age but, everything we know puts her in her late 30s / 40s.

I'm disappointed, they could be doing a the sequel or even a spin off to the series or something else, yet they're repackaging the same game again and again.

yeah, AAAA GOTY titles like deathloop, which is a MS xbox title. Halo Infinite, MSFS20, FH5 and psychonauts2, all critically acclaimed titles. Lets not forget Tunic. At least they aren't doing stupid things like making a remastered remaster of a remaster. On top of that, charging $70 for it LOL.

If ND was under MS, theres no way that MS would be pushing them to waste time on this kind of thing. They would be working on a new project, or they'd all get a nice well deserved break. Poor ND developers must be fed up of sonys bs. The only company WORSE to work at would be rockstar, where they remaster GTA5 every generation.

@BenjaminBanklin: btw, im not even hating for the sake of hating like I usually do. TLOU is a fantastic game, one of the greats. They should be giving this away as a free update, like MS did with gears of war 5, or capcom did with RE2/RE3.

I hear Capcom is even considering remaking Resident Evil 9 now. You know, get ahead of the curve, get it done before the original version comes out in a year or two.

RE1 was already remade.. it's a shame they didn't put that kind of care into the rest of them. An RE3 remake that was actually faithful to the original would have been awesome. But it'll never happen now. Now all you get is the 20+ year old original, and that steaming shit they squeezed out recently.

I thought the RE2 remake was outstanding. I think Code Veronica should be the next one.

I’m still trying to figure out what the deal is with ND’s modelers. They appear to have some proclivity in changing their characters in this remake:

Joel: features softened, shoulders not as buffed, rounder belly (nigh dare I say approaching a beer gut), puppy dog eyes and generally a less intimidating and aggressive presence.

Ellie: turned from a fourteen year old girl into someone in her late teens to early twenties. Chest has also been noticeably flattened.

Tess: that’s a good extra ten to fifteen years, at least. She’s got that older jowl thing going on with the pained eyes of a grandma to her. She looked in her mid thirties in the OG, here she is pushing fifty, if not older. Perhaps it’s the angle….

Are they actively trying to make them less attractive? I know Neil has given speeches about sexual objectification in gaming before, funny as the original TLoU did anything but, but I don’t know why they make these changes otherwise. They’re completely unneeded.
