...have you played Shattered Memories?
Like, seriously. Have you?
I finished watching some Gametrailers show and everyone there talked about how amazing Heavy Rain's mature storytelling is. Alan Wake is also mentioned yet a little game, released by a hype-free game developer, called Shattered Memories seems to have never happened.
What the hell is wrong with these idiots? From gamers i kinda understand, we cant buy every good game out there so we end up talking about what we can afford to play. But why is the game with one of the most surprisingly clever and engaging characters and narrative to come out this gen being COMPLETELY ignored by the press? And the few who talk about it seem to have given it no thought whatsoever.
You may love or completely hate what it has to offer as a SH game but the storytelling is more than worth mentioning, yet, it never is.
Its head and shoulders above your typical story-focused videogame, its cheap and its out on PSP, PS2 and Wii. I urge you to experience it (on Wii if possible) and look up some of the amazing theories floating around the internet.
It really is something rare; Videogame storytelling that doesnt treat gamers like dumb, mouthbreading teenagers. Something that keeps you thinking and realizing important things even after you finish it.
Maybe if they re-released it on the PS360, the terrible dedicated-press gaming is stuck with would have given it half the attention it deserves.
Such a shame.
