I was told this is a better forum to post this message in, so here it goes:

Right now I keep going back and forth wondering if I want to build a new gaming rig or if I just want to buy a 360. I've been a gamer on both platforms (computer and console) since the mid 80's and I really only have money/time for one or the other.

I like RPGs and some shooters. I like some RTS games too. I live with my g/f, so half of the time I have to sacrifice the TV. With a gaming PC, I would never have to worry about that. With a 360, I could save some money and play on my couch. Both platforms have the same games pretty much, but it seems that lately developers are siding with consoles and neglecting PCs.

I really have no idea which I should get. Tomorrow I'll wake up and have my head set on a 360. The next day I'll have my head set on the rig I want to build. Can anyone make any suggestions or comments to help me stay on one side of the fence? Thanks!

Get the PC, devs are not neglecting PC, they are just making games multiplat. The difference here is though the PC still has the most exclusive games, not to mention you said you like RPGS,FPS and RTS. That alone should mean pick up the PC.

Nobody can make up your mind for you.. ITs you in the end who will be spending the time and money. I say...If you are just wanting to play games..Play games with ease...Hook up online with ease...And be able to chat with people on a mic with ease...Get a 360 or PS3.

IF on the other hand you want to do a little more with your gaming..Like mods and such or want the use of k/m and dont mind some hassles with patches, updates, and things of such...UPgrade your pc. Its really that simple.

If I was going to game and want ease of use and enjoyment...I would go console. But that is me. Im not a hater of pc gaming, I just find it annoying trying to get things how you want them and I dont like trying to figure out which of the 120 keys is used for what..

I would get the PC, since you have to share your TV, cause when your really get into a game on an online match and somebody accidentally switches the channel, or starts whining about the new show that is on, it really sucks. Also PC has the best graphics, and cheaper games. + Everyone needs a PC, not just for gaming.

I'd reccomend the PC since the PC is the best imo for Shooters, RPGs and RTS. Granted it won't be as easy as using the xbox but if you put time and patience into it you'll get more out of it than any console. Plus you don't have to share the screen with the gf.;)

I would just go for the 360, you will have a great back catalogue and you won't have to worry about updating for quite some time

The game's lead designer says bringing the game to consoles won't dumb down the experience.

deus ex - Deus Ex 3 release platforms uncertain

Speaking to Edge, Deus Ex 3 lead designer Jean-Francois Dugas has revealed while the game is definitely coming to PC, the team isn't sure which other platforms the highly anticipated title is coming to.

"At this point we don't know exactly which platforms we're going to be out on," said Dugas. "The PC, we'll be there for sure."

He also made it clear that bringing the game to consoles doesn't mean Eidos Montréal will be dumbing down the experience.

"But for us, console-isation isn't about dumbing down features. If we're to go console we will want to keep the complexity alive. We want the menu interface and controller to feel simple without risking any of their potential," he explained.

Deus Ex 3 is currently without a confirmed release date.

if you want games that are cheaper to buy and look better then PC (eg. far cry 2)

Plus online is still better on the PC as most online games have dedicated servers, so you suffer from little to no lag.

And no devs aren't abandoning the PC, they are going multiplatform. Actually look at deus ex 3, its confirmed on the PC but not the consoles yet. Operation flashpoint 2 is designed for the PC, even though console versions will be released.

New KOTOR is PC exclusive, well its an mmo, so no surprise.

Dragon age again built for pc gamers, later out on the console.

But really look at all the games on both platforms, whats out now and whats coming out, and decide.

Well you can hook your PC to your TV if you want, and if you like RPGs, RTS and shooters its fine.

And the scene is just fine, its still the most popular platform - still has the most exclusives by a large margin.

However if its simplicity you want, and you dont want a computer rather somthing to play games on the cheap - that is not going to be state of the art or high end, go with a console.

i would say get pc, the frames r better the graphics better, u get mods that u can download. there is a bigger community of people playing the game. not that many of young people to yell and scream in to the mic.

if you have the money and you know about computers, just get a pc. 360 would be fine, though. its not a life making or breaking decision. just ask yourself which one has more games that you enjoy. it really boils down to personal enjoyment.

thats what rabbid fanboys can't understand (all fanboys, lemmings, cows, and the almighty hermits, sheep too i guess), so don't expect to get a fair answer on system wars.

Based on the games you like, PC is the better choice.

Also make sure you buy The Witcher EE!

You can do more on a PC.

Games are cheaper and look nicer.

KB/M is much better.

If you want, you could plug your computer to your TV, it only takes one cable, don't listen to anyone who says it is complicated.

If you want to relax on your couch, you can use a controller instead of your keyboard and mouse.

But chances are your GF may like the 360 better because if you get a game she'll enjoy she'll play it with you. A PC is for a single player experience. Of course A PC has much better graphics depending on how much memory and what GPU you have and how fast your CPU is. Personally if I was in your shoes I'd buy a console and use the rest of the money for a vacation with my GF or something.
