I have a question for Lemmings, Sheep and Hermits *fanboys and non-fanboys*.
Would you get a ps3 during this current gen ? and in what case? or not at all ?
I mean in what condition would you want to get a ps3?

when it's $300 or lower and only if it's still has excellent support.OntainThat sounds about right.
Well considering its main feature is "full HD" gaming, and considering that I only have a 480p television, it probably won't happen until after I have an HDTV, and that probably won't happen until after I graduate from university.
i think that would be in around 2-3 years from now.arabi_89Yeah. That sounds about right. Probably 3 years after it came out. So, November '09.
ill buy it when i got the money and cool game available, 300 would be a little too cheap i think.jojo198
Ya and you would have to wait 6+ years for it to be that price too.

So, the PS3 is worth the price of X Box 360 Core?
The Xbox 360 Core isn't worth the price of the Xbox 360 core.I'd buy one if Blu-ray became more relevant. I have HDTV, but I haven't felt the need for a next gen DVD player yet. I have an upscale that works just great for now. Also, the price would need to come down. I have a wife that would kill me if I spent $600 on a game console, no matter how well off we are. It's the principle. I have a 360, so my game needs are well taken care of right now. Sony does have some (at least it looks like) great games coming out - the Heavenly Sword game looks fantastic.
If it dropped to $300 and BR was a must have, I'd get it. Home doesn't appeal at all to me (I think its creepy).
The price is the very reason I'm getting a Wii first, and a PS3 later. Now that Sony's discontinued the 20GB model, they are kinda in a position to lower the price of the 60GB model. This is cos the 20GB PS3 was to compensate for the lower end market, whereas the 60GB was for the upper end. Now they have to compensate for both.
With luck, the PS3 will be a lot cheaper come X-mas.
Those who said that they'll get it when it costs 300 should better say " We hate the ps3 we'll never buy a console made by our enemy" being honest makes your life easier
I'm hopefully getting one within the next few months. Maybe August, i'll have to see. I just can't resist the lures of Blu-ray movies and the games line-up from late 2007 to late 2008. Plus it's future proof IMO.

There's no such thing as future proof technology. Advances occur at such a rapid pace that suggesting a certain technology will have all that it needs for the next 10 years is, well sort of ridiculous. By the time that the 10 years is up MS will have the next xbox iteration that will blow the doors off of the PS3 far more than the 360 already does.

Nah. I'm a PS2 owner and I don't hate the PS3. Why would anyone hate a machine? I'm not buying it yet cause no one else is buying it and if no one is buying it there's no support. If there's no support, the product won't last.
I'll get one when I believe it has enough games out to warrant my purchase. Part of that is that the games excede the 360's lineup to the point that I feel I need a second system.
MGS 4, Heavenly Sword, and FFxiii aren't going to cut it. Maybe God of war 3 but I doubt it.
If the PS3 actually played games that I couldn't get else where that I want, I'd slap the 600 down no problem. But as of right now, it doesn't, so no PS3 for me.
