To play on PC or console

Hi there

Since this is a comparison , I thought this is the best place to ask this question.

I own a 360, and you all know that there are drivers for the 360 controller on the windows XP.

So the question comes to this. I own a 360, and i am going to buy a pc (ok its an imac, but ill run windows xp on it) ,

I am wondering, is there any reason to favor one over the other? I believe PC games are cheaper, and since I have a choice

of keyboard and mouse or exact controller , and as far as I know pc graphics are better, not to mention no RROD chance...

is there an advantage of playing on a pc rather on 360.

This question is for games that are found on both, like bioshock for example, ...

I thought of this because I have fairly new SD tv, that i don't see a way of a $600 HDTV purchase being worth it just to play 360 games

(no blu-ray, no hd-dvd, no ps3, no hd channels, no hd camcorder)

the imac has 24inch screen and as far as I know, pc's output HD graphics...

can i get advice?

Buying an iMac to play games on is a recipe for disaster.

There are loads of advantages of the PC platform over the 360.

However ultimately its what system has the games you want to play...

his parents, who he still lives with, since he cant afford his own place due to putting all his money into his pc.

I have a good paying job and have all systems with the exception of wii.

yep. them macs is EXPENSIVE! i use one at home for video/audio production. definitely not for gaming. building your own PC is the only way to go in that respect.

Doesn't the best iMac come with 8800 or something and cost an arm and a leg? I think that would run games like Bioshock well. But anything less and I doubt high-end games will play smoothly on a resolution that monitor is meant for.

But since you're apparently bying it anyway, just try some demos to see if you like playing on it as well.

If you want to game, PC is the ONLY & BEST way to go.

if your PC can run the big games well, then it's the best choice IMO

most of you are missing the point...

I DO have a 360, and I AM buying an imac no matter what, i am not buying to for gaming purposes, its for me, my personal use.

the question is, since the imac will run some games that are on the 360 (oblivion, bioshock, etc) , and I can use the same controller, and I will get an HD display instead of SD....do you think its better?

Those who are saying that an imac is more expensive than hd tv, they are right, but you are missing the point, i am not getting "either-or"...i am buying the imac one way or another, so the HDTV will cost me in addition to the imac.

The other point is , am not getting imac for gaming, i know pc is better for that, but this is my option..i have an imac and it run games...so should I get the 360 or pc game...I OWN BOTH, so i dont have to decide which platform to get based on which games i would like to play.

Play on PunkBuster servers... which is pretty much the vast majority of servers and its perfect.

Whats the point of even comparing PC online to 360 anyway, one is leagues ahead of the later, so much so its hardly fare to even try and stick the two together.

I'll give you the response I give everyone who wants to know what system to buy. Make a list of all the games you want for the 360, and the PC. Compare these lists, take price into account, and make your decision.

As far as a Mac goes, I really can't recommend it.
