Has the thought ever occured that maybe someone wants to play without the fear of their console dying? or free online?
Or maybe not everyone cares about DLC that you have to pay for, which adds a few hours to an already 100+ hour experience.

if u have a ps3 and don't have a 360, your not gonna go buy a 360 just for the extra stuff GTA4 has, ppl stop confusing your self! 360 version will obviously sell better because it has a bigger user base and it has a DLC but PS3 version will sell great as well cause not all the ppl that own ps3 own 360 as well, also the PS3 Version of GTA will out sell the 360 Version of GTA in japan because of the fact that PS3 has alot more userbase in japan than 360 does. now everyone enjoy life :D pminooei
I'm not denying that GTA 4 will be great on both platforms. Just saying the 360 version'll be better.

 No.
I don't worry about getting RROD in the least. Second, that "better controller" is opinion. The Xbox 360 version has achievements and DLC which pummel the PS3 version. Resisting the truth is futile.

Only for people that actually plan to buy the DLC, which is a minority.
Minority? That's laughable.
I know cows already took their pledge of ignorance, but who wouldn't want DLC for their games.

You know, I was thinking kinda the same thing. I was wondering how many people that own both a 360 and a PS3 are getting it for PS3, just out of fear of buying it for their 360, just to have the system go out. I know i would be scared of wasting my money like that.Has the thought ever occured that maybe someone wants to play without the fear of their console dying? or free online?

It's not like PS3's are 100% immune to breaking down. Even if you do get a RROD, you can get one back for free because of the warranty.
The PS3 version is the same. Learn to do some research next time before posting. The DLC doesn't count. It isn't part of the actual game, but is a optional download that you will have to pay for. I love the lemmings trying to use DLC that has to be bought as part of the actual game.*yawn*

Actually, I think it is the minority that actually care. I work at gamestop and I rarely hear people who stop and talk about the game even bring up the DLC. This can indicate a few things, they either have no idea about it, they don't care about it, or they they've already decided to get it. After seeing the advertising on the 360 DLC, I can probably safely assume that most have not already decided to get the DLC and the first two reasons are most likely.

Sorry, but the three year warranty isn't good enough for me. I should have to worry about having to sjip my console anywhere. That's just unacceptable to me. Hardcore GTA fans will probably get the 360 fans, and if not, it probably won't matter. Of course, theres also the idea of wanting to keep the franchise on the same console, which I think is a lame idea.

I don't view the two games the same, even if at first they are nearly identical. One will have the option to expand it's content if the user wishes, the other will not. It's a difference, one where the Xbox 360 clearly wins. Having the option is better than not having one at all.
Some of the excuses being said in this thread have nothing to do with the actual game and it's content.

I never said I have one, this is for the people who have both but still choose PS3 version. I can buy a 360 if I want, but the extra DLC isnt worth it, and I have interest in only 1 other game on 360 which isnt even out yet and is also coming on PC, so theres no point in buying one.
Oh noes, the cows prefer the PS3 version, go figure.
Get over yourselves not EVERY 360 will RROD. I swear the cows still are the only people that beleive that.
It's either the Ultimate 360 version or the Vanilla PS3 version and why do you conviently forget 360 will have custom soundtracks and rumble support? You cows STILL will have to buy DS3's to enjoy rumble.

1. You only get viruses on computers if you dont know how to use your computer properly.
2. lol...the chances of a tornado or earth quake are FAAAAAR less then RROD. Plus I live in a city so Tornado is out of the question.

I already know GTA IV will be epic. I can't wait. It will be the talked about game. People will talked about all the things you could do in the game. And then there will be seperate talks about the exclusive content. And one thing I know for sure that people will say is "I told you so". It can go either way, "I told you so, the content is awesome!" or "I told you so, the content wasn't worth it". Can't wait. Some of these people will feel bitterness and owned.

Well...I've got a PS3 and a 360, and I'm going to play it without fear of my console dying...And that'll still be on my 360. So far, my 360 has run just fine, and even if it crapped out on me tomorrow, I've still got a warranty from Best Buy, not to mention the 3 year RRoD warranty through MS. Since I've got no concerns about the "safety" of my 360, I'd much rather have the version with the aforementioned DLC. Besides, you have absolutely no idea how good the DLC is, so writing it off doesn't seem particularly wise.
However, for people who don't have a 360, there's no shame in buying the PS3 version; it'll still be a great game for a great system.
