found this video on youtube and the guys clearly explains with EVIDENCE that not all HDMI cables perform the same. He says that monster cables give out the best performance over any kind of HDMI cable today. This kinda pisses me off cuz I don't wonna be spending 80 bucks for HDMI cables...........

I'm not sure.....although I never tried a monster HDMI cable but they are extreamly expensive!! I can get an HDMI cable over amazon for 14.99 !! So I'm not sure if it really is true!!

Even if it is so the improvements I don't think worth the extra $65. They are very minor I think!

yeah - try telling this to the cows.

they think the crappy 5$ cables they buy online from asia do the trick just fine. too bad they have no idea about things like image fidelity, impedence, etc.

they like their eye candy, but they sure as hell don't seem to understand the technology behind it.

Well its liek anything else in life, you get what you pay for.

Does teh difference in cables really really really mean that much to you that your sooooooo p issed off?

Then you will go out and buy the better cables.

Thats like saying I just bought a geforce 7 series gpu and these new geforce 8 gpus are so much better that p isses me off.

That guy is wrong. A Monster cable is only needed if going over 10 feet in length. Since Monster cables have the most lossless path, they are very good for long distances. For short distances you don't need a super expensive HDMI cable. I bought one for 30 dollars for my PS3 and it works great.

The length of the cable effects picture quality much greater than does the quality of the cable.

Monster cables are for people who either are audiophiles or fools. Maybe one in the same?

Well....as I said I never tried a Monster cable but I tried one from Sony and another one from a no-name company and they both looked the same!!! As others said before.....if it's a short cable it wont be different really!! But if you have to use a longer cable than you might need an expensive cable!!

Im not ******* spending like $60 for a damn cable. My brother has an Elite and he brought it over to my house. I connected the HDMI input then the componet cables. I noticed NO difference. Then again it could be the generic HDMI cable that comes with the Elite...

Its called the digital cliff.

With an analogue signal (think old cable tv or antenna) image quality gradually fades the farther it goes as information is lost or corrupted.

With a digital connection, the information either makes it more or less complete, of it does not. Its either a near complete picture, or nothing. In connections longer than 20+ ft, it would be a good idea to get the best cable possible. Smaller than that, any difference in perceived quality would be minute.

Not all HDMI cables are the same quality, but Monster cables are ridiculously over-priced. You can find a cable that works just as well for less than half the price of a comparable Monster cable.
