Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition vs Killzone Shadow Fall

What do you think has better graphics? I would say that Tomb Raider looks better. The surrounding are incredible and character models are even. But given the elements in Tomb Raider I have to give that game the edge in graphics. And obviously in gameplay. It's a gorgeous looking game.

Lol, either way TR on PS4 and KZ are better than TR on Xbone.

The latest update for TR on the PC makes the Definitive Edition pointless.

Not for people who don't have high end PCs, like the majority of gamers.

KZS still bitch slaps Lara 24/7, but I would say Tomb Raider on PS4 does the same to Ryse tho.

Killzone from what iv seen. Tomb Raider looks nice an all, but i think the lighting in killzone pulls out ahead

Last time i heard about it people seemed offended by how bulky and dull the earlier Killzone were.

Killzone looks way better

It's not too bad. The gunplay is great, guns feel good to fire. AI is generally ok, but the game does lack soul, and story is not interesting.

I could complete it with no issues, I did'nt lose motivation to complete it, but I don't think I will be replaying it anytime soon.

On graphics, I prefer Tomb Raider 2013 PC over plain vanilla Crysis1 PC.

Like Killzone 2/3, TR2013 also has deferred rendering for lights(DRL) i.e. TR2013's tech is just good.

Oh don't get me wrong, the lighting effects in TR'13 are sweet, I just feel they are superior in Killzone.

That said, I currently have TR:DE downloading on my PS4, so I will directly compare the games myself, it has been a few months since I completed TR'13 on pc.

TR'13 PC has received new updates.

Yeah I heard about that, but alas, I wanted to try it out on PS4.

I might take some direct share captures from both TR:DE and Killzone and post them here if I can be bothered. I may just post thoughts though.

As I have both games... I suppose I can give an educated opinion in comparison to those that haven't played them.

Killzone still beats TR DE in the graphics department. That said, it was that developer's first attempt on the new systems and if I remember, it wasn't even CD that "ported" TR. I can see Tomb Raider's sequel beating Killzone in the graphics department without any debate.

TR DE still looks stunning though. The arguments on which games look better are becoming a bit stupid as the differences are becoming marginal at best. At least on my 720p TV anyway.

Now... which game is better in my opinion? Tomb Raider, hands down.

I'm playing KZ:SF and while the SP gameplay really sucks, the game looks very nice.

Tomb Raider is the better game. KZ SF was the worst launch game on the PS4. That is all that matters.

Worse than Knack?

@mrxboxone: Sure, if you have a beast of a PC. Nothing on consoles beat it though. Not yet anyway. That will change in less than a year though. Possibly even Infamous in about 2 months.

YEP! Knack is like old school Crash with a worse lead character and no comedy. I don't get the hate for the game. I think people are just scared of the challenge. Shadowfall is all graphics ruined by bloom.Multiplayer is decent but wt ith BF4 and COD on the system there is no reason for it to exist. And single player is awful after the forest level. The lame ass train & ladder level, The missions in space having to take those fuses in and out od doors and computers to get thru the level, the boring "You use the sniper rifle and protect me mission". WORST PART OF THE GAME? Has to be the objection marker. It is useless even though it has a dedicated button you can tap to lead the way. Terrible game.

I would give it to KZ, it seems to be pushing more polys and actually uses tesselation. But TR:DE does look amazing. Most people that are bad mouthing it haven't played it on the PS4. I'd say its arguably the second best looking game on the console, between that and BF.

BF3 on consoles is rather ugly

Killzone doesn't look that great to me. It was way too inconsistent, some levels looked amazing but the later ones had low res textures all over the place. In bf4 (single player) you can go close to building structures and the textures don't look like bunch of pixels. It looks like high res artwork was pasted on.

Ryse looks better then TR:DE. So it's pretty obvious that KZ:SF does as well. TR:DE looks like crap to me really. It looks better on the PC of course, but that's still not saying much.

KZ SF for sure. Beyond stunning and a true next gen title.

You mean the majority of pc users. The majority of pc gamers probably have something in the lines of 7850 and with a 7850 i can play TR close max ( AA aside ) with around 40-45fps average

Killzone looks better. It's sad the XboxOne can't run a last gen port in 60fps and has to settle with 30fps+dips while using 100% of its power.

Tormentos need to undestand we are all gamers not some type of animals. Myself i can enjoy PC Xone or PS4 gaming without internal conflicts.
