After seeing Metroid Prime 3 , I would say Retro might be the company that will push the Wii.

Its sad to see factor 5 go however they made a poor desicion about handling this gen. Even so, many devs can push the wii if they put the effort in but your results really aren't ging to be much better than last gen.

480p isn't officially HD, it is actually EDTV (extended definition TV).

Back on topic: I dont think we will see the Wii get pushed to its limits at all. The core audiance could careless about all that. As long as they can wave there hands around like fools, and win, they are more than content. Retro made the Metroid Prime series, and those look pretty damn good.

Metroid prime 3 doesn't look that good. Atleast from a technical point, gorgeous art style but thats all really. Retro could push it way further if they wanted too.

That engine showed us nothing. What could you have possibly of gauged from that. And using the entire system, thats a joke right? Have you seen what factor 5 did with the Gamecube? Also it makes no sense to show us a 8 sec tech demo that uses all the systems power when people would expect similar things ingame.

Maybe the'll port gears2 on the wii some day...

Anyway the wii can do ps3/360 grahics...sounds really strange since it has a like what? 64mb grapics card?

Dough i'm surprised consoles cand do KZ2/uncharted2/gears2 graphics at 30fps with their hardware.....devs deserve applause i guess.Some oter devs, like crytek, don't even bother with consoles, they go PC all the way :P

The wii is almost = in power to the original xbox. It can still be pushed (as right now alot of ps2 games look better) but it will never match real current gen consolesPrinceofSarcasm

Now, some of the best looking games were on the Gamecube, Resident Evil 4 is a definite example.

The Wii is touted to be twice as powerful as the Gamecube, we've yet to really see it. Whereas Metroid Prime 3 pushes more particle effects, more detailed characters and environments, the game is artistacly beautiful. However, from a technical standpoint, its far from what the Wii could push.

Mario Galaxy is a lot more of what Wii owners should expect. A great physics engine, beautiful environments from both a technical and artistic standpoint.

My bet, is that the Wii Zelda, will show exactly how powerful the Wii is. By the time that game comes out, it will have been in development for 3 years (at least the engine).

But any dev could push the Wii, if they stopped trying to go for quick cash hogs instead.

am sure the Wii has much more potential than what games have shown so far but i dont see games for Wii come close to what PS3 & 360 can offer in terms of visuals....
