Too Human is getting way too much hype

Ok lemmings.  You make fun of it after E306 and now you are hailing it as "teh uber sweetness"? I can't get the bad taste of E3 outta my mouth.  Remember lemmings, Too Human was hyped b4 E3 and was already being hailed as a great game, even though there was barely any info.  Fast forward to E3 and lemmings were highly disappointed. 

Yeah, the game looks better now...but I'm still not going to hype it yet.  Yes, IGN had their full hype meter up with that preview.  They did the same thing with Fable and indicated (in the preview) that it was the best RPG ever!  We all know how that turned out.

So its ok to go crazy over something like Lair but its not ok to hype Too Human. Get outta here if people want to hype Too Human like crazy let them who the hell are you to tell them otherwise. Cows gets way too excited over games hyping them like no tomorrow even sheep sometimes it not just a lemming thing.

Let people get excited, and hype whatever games appeal to them, man. If you do not agree, just ignore the hype and move on. Besides, this is a VIDEO GAME DISCUSSION FORUM, is it not? Discussion about games is the main reason we are here.

I am personally excited for this game myself as well, as it is looking/sounding superb. It is definitely a game that is worthy of hype, and discussion in my opinion. And this would be the place to do it in.

Look at it this way.

1.) It owns and lives up to its hype. Accept it.

2.) It flops and people who hype it get owned.

Either way you either get a great game or can rub it in... so perhaps you might want to address this same thing to people hyping Lair or just let it go in general. K thanks.

I take it you never played any of silicon knights games from last gen.

If you had played them, especially eternal darkness, you would have known that they are one of the most unique high quality devs out there. If you are gonna hype just one 360 game this one should rightfully be high on your list.

Silicon knights are master storytellers and if they get the gameplay right aswell ,they will turn heads and drop jaws....

Anyone who scours the internet tubes deep enough to reach SW should know that SK was forced to show a very rushed, unimpressive demo at E3, and they've been pretty upset and vocal about that fact.  So now, we are seeing real info, much more refined gameplay and hearing about some cool features, why shouldn't people get a little excited?  Its actually coming together and looks like it could be good fun.  It could be this generation's version of all the top-down RPGs last gen like Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath, etc. set in a much more novel universe.Corvin

I had also lost hope for this game after seeing that old trailer which put it in a bad light. But now we know that it was just not presentation worthy, and people simply just got the wrong impression. I bet if we had saw Gears of War footage before it was presentation worthy, or while it was still in it's "ideas" stage, the SAME THING would have happened....guarantee it.

All of this revamped, new, PRESENTATION STAGE footage has personally blown me away. I honestly think that this game is now looking/sounding like it could easily end up being one of the top 5 releases for the 360. That is a pretty big stretch, but I am still calling it, regardless.

Silicon Knights has a masterpiece on their hands, and they know it....and so will we.

They ALL THREE look great, and will provide great variety for the 360, and PS3 for us to enjoy as GAMERS....not as "cows", or "lemmings", lol.

Also, I am sure that by the time that Too Human is released, the gameplay will be tweaked out just fine by Silicon Knights. After all, the game is still in development, you know?:roll: How can you even comment with complete accuracy on gameplay anyway, beings that you HAVE NOT EVEN PLAYED THE GAME?

Both games have in development for a very long time. Everyone whos played Heavenly Sword said it was awesome, i still await a complaint about the game. Too Human is a game that will appeal to some, and not to others, well, seems like alot find this game a big put off.

I agree this game looks pretty average, but so do (as other posters have pointed out) heavenly sword and Lair. Lets us not forget the hypeage of Motorstorm, RFOM and VF5. Its what crazy fanboys do, as you should know.blue_hazy_basic

To be fair, VF 5 was given a royal screw job by GS.

That's all they need for me to be fairly confident this will be a good game.  I'm not expecting AAA, but I wouldn't rule out mid-high AA yet.

Plus, now you're supposed to explain WHAT damage control is before shouting it. Anyway if you want me to talk about why I brought up the E3 awards, I'll tell you. :) I think that the reception a game gets from people that have actual hands on time is a better indiction of how good the game is going to be instead of basing it on past games.

the person that writes the story for Metal gear solid said the story in TOo HUman was great, comparable to MGS4

I read it, and it's a good thread, but his opinion is just as valid as mine. No one knows if Heavenly Sword or Too Human will be good. Also, I had a Heavenly Sword sig until 2 days ago, so obviously I am hoping it will be good.

I'm a cow...but I'm definitely not hyping Lair.  It just seems that too much hype whether from lemmings, sheep, cows leads to disappointment when a game finally releases.  This is not always true though.  GeOW was amazing and had a ton of hype.  But usually hype kills a game.  I hope Too Human is amazing. I really do.

I just don't think the game looks as amazing as everyone says it does.  Good? Yeah.  But not amazing.  I think that the E306 showing was so terrible that people were shocked it looked good in the recent footage.  I for one was expecting nothing good after E306, and at 1st was amazed at what I saw currently...at first.  Then I realized that the game looked good, and that's it.  Not amazing.  I think I was amazed at 1st because my expectations were extremely low.  I think if expectations had been very high, then people would not be hyping it as much.  It just looks "amazing" because people were shocked that it didn't look terrible like it did at E306.  Hope I'm making sense here....

Huh??  What do you mean exactly?  I'm hypocritical because I'm a cow not hyping Lair?  Believe it or not, just because I'm a Sony fanboy doesn't mean I'm looking forward to every game.  What statement am I contradicting exactly?  Read my posts...I've NEVER hyped Lair or even mentioned it.  Or are you talking about me being hypocritical about GeOW turning out well despite the hype? Most games don't turn out amazing when hype is too high.  GeOW was an exception.

I never hyped Motorstorm.  I predicted high A or low AA.  I wasn't expecting much from that game.

I just don't think the game looks as amazing as everyone says it does. Good? Yeah. But not amazing. I think that the E306 showing was so terrible that people were shocked it looked good in the recent footage. I for one was expecting nothing good after E306, and at 1st was amazed at what I saw currently...at first. Then I realized that the game looked good, and that's it. Not amazing. I think I was amazed at 1st because my expectations were extremely low. I think if expectations had been very high, then people would not be hyping it as much. It just looks "amazing" because people were shocked that it didn't look terrible like it did at E306. Hope I'm making sense here....

If you watch any of the videos on ign you will see that the graphics are actually quit amazing, and don't forget the game is still in development.

Yeah, the game looks better now...but I'm still not going to hype it yet. Yes, IGN had their full hype meter up with that preview. They did the same thing with Fable and indicated (in the preview) that it was the best RPG ever! We all know how that turned out.

Whoopie! Too Human's graphics are better. What an accomplishment seeing as they couldn't be any worse after E3 :roll:

Lemmings always seem to get WAY TOO EXCITED prematurely before a game releases.

I never hyped Motorstorm. I predicted high A or low AA. I wasn't expecting much from that game.

Not you as a person but cows in general, I didnt hype to human before e3 but now its looking like an aweosme game.
