Too many shooters, where are the original games?

Want to see some diversity.

unfortunately shooters are really popular and sell extremely well.

they all seem the same to me, just a whole bunch of mindless killing. we can only hope that people will get tired of shooters but i doubt it. people love to shoot things

I'm fine with shooters as long as they're not about shooting mid-east terrorists with m4a1. CS is an exception for me though:roll:

Why would developers care to try anything else. Shooters are "unfortunately" extremely popular and have been for a good 10 years. I however am trying different things such as Dragon Age and Sacred2 and LBP these days.

I have been getting sick of them too lately

There are plenty of games besides shooters. Shooters are popular so you see them in magazines and stories more often.

Shooters are popular with developers because shooters are popular with consumers.

But let's be honest, there are many different genres and they're all pretty well filled with good games.

Deep down inside , there's a redneck hiding , lurking in us waiting to come out and shoot anything that moves .

Shooters can burn in hell. I am so sick of them, devs need to look back to last and get some inspiration to make great and unique games. Stupid capitalistic america ruined everything...profits>quality and originality. These idiot devs make some generic shooter with mediocre graphics and one feature that is new and try to sell the crap out of it. Some devs like bungie and valve do the whole FPS thing well...but games like HAZE, metro 2033, timeshift, blacksite, and even the horrid COD: MW games are just made to gain a quick buck. Are you sure you want originality? Heavy Rain was raked over coals, being accused of not being a game...let's face it, the gaming community, the majority at least, do not want innovation. They attack games like HR, they simply don't buy games like Flower in mass quantities, dismiss motion controls, and have already written off 3d gaming. We are as conservative and wary of anything different about as much as the bullies in highschool who called us nerds and weirdos. We're just snobs of a different color, narrow-minded and dogmatic. beekayjay
