Top 10 10 million selling games since 2000

The top list of 10 million sellers:

10. World of Warcraft (10 million since 2004)
9. The Sims 2 (13 million since 2004)
8. New Super Mario Bros. (13.14 million since 2006)
7. Pokemon Gold and Silver (14.1 million since 2000)
6. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl (14.17 million since 2007)
5. Grand Theft Auto III (14.5 million since 2001)
4. Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec (14.89 million since 2001)
3. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (17.5 million since 2002)
2. Nintendogs (17.79 million since 2005)
1. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (21.5 million since 2005).

We expect more next-gen games to join this list in the near future. Four other new games that are well on their way to 10 million are:

* Wii Play (9.23 million since December 2006)
* Guitar Hero III (9.5 million since October 2007)
* Halo 3 (8.1 million since September 2007)
* Grand Theft Auto IV (6 million since April 2008)

Just joining this list today at number 11 is Call of Duty 4 that sold 10 million, but including that in the list wouldn't have given it such a nice ring.

I bought two Nintendog games when it was big. One for me and One for my wife. Man that game was boring. But it huge in the EU so I expect there be more coming out.

Ah ok. VGChartz (not the most accurate I know, but its what we got) has WiiPlay over the 10 million mark now, and GTA IV is sitting just over 9 million with PS3/360 combined.

No but some to buy it for the game. The problem is you have no idea how many bought it for the controller and how many for the game. Look at Wiisports well it sold with the Wii here. In Japan it sold millions and comes with no extras.

Which is why the figure is wrong. Why are all the others based on copies sold but not WoW? Im a bit doubtful that WoW has only achieved 10 million subscribers and 10 million copies sold. It would seem reasonable that at least 2 or 3 million more have been sold and there no longer active accounts.

It is EXTREMLY sad that games like Nintendogs, New super Mario Bros and Wii play are going to outsell The GTA's, Halo 3 and COD4.

I am not Bashing Nintendo games as a whole Im just saying that I would rather Have SSBB or SMG outselling these games such as GTA and Halo and Call of duty but they Just dont. Crap like Wii Play and Nintendogs are going to outsell all these great games.

17 Million morons if you ask me, nawh im kidding, i have never played it, guy at work had it when it first came out, sat in the break room shouting at his DS, i saw a few gameplay videos and read a few reviews, not my kind of game really so i never bothered with it.

Wii play is pretty much a $10 game, so that can sell itself. the Nintendogs thing is that they combine all of the sales of all the different nintendogs in one, thats why their sales are so high.

Wii Sports, Nonbundled(in japan)has sold over 3million copies.

VGChartz has GTA:SA only selling 17 million.. I know VGChartz aint the most reliable, but to be 4 million off is a bit of a stretch.
