Since you can't actually beat WoW, how do you replay it?

Yeah, take out Wow, and put in COD4. Other than that, seems about right. Shooters generally have the longest replayability.

well when u say replay value, online games dont count, because duhhhhh!!! online games are always replayable, wow online games arent beatable nor replayable in single player terms, i played MGS4 3 times, 1 stealth 2 Machine Gun 3 knifing everyone!! 4... there are sooo many ways to beat that game, its like a completel different game, Halo is boring the second time around, Gears2 should be fun the second time i play it

Joke response?  Counterstrike was released almost a decade ago and had 2.5X as many people playing today as Overhyped2Death.

My votes, in no order, CS, Starcraft, Diablo 2

Excluding obvious MMORPG WoW, which some people have been playing since it's release four years ago: 1) Counter Strike 2) Starcraft 3) Warcraft 3 I'd say the answer is these games because they are games that came out prior to this generation, but still have very, very large playerbases. I doubt many, if any, games this generation will be able to claim that in the future. I also sort of feel consoles get eclipsed in this a little bit, since problems with BC can often wound a great games replayability.

It is illogical to include online-centered multiplayer games because you can never beat them. I think what we're defining as "replay" here is what game you keep beating over and over again.

He is kind of right, but it depends on how good the single-player game is. I think we can all agree that RPGs are the hardest genre to replay.

To replay something doesn't necessarily mean you've beaten or finished something it, it just means your playing it over and over again. But, by your definition I supposed I'd replace something like CS with OoT.

You replay instances though, and if people are including MP versus/competitive modes, I guess WOW should count since it includes BGs and arenas which are competitive modes too.

Anything with an editor or SDK. Which pretty much puts loads of PC games under that category. Id say - the Half Life series, followed by Operation Flashpoint, oh and yeah loads of RPGS.

I disagree. WoW gets boring pretty quick for being an MMO. Its not bad, but there could be so much more longevity to it. My top 3 would be Counter-Strike (there's STILL new mods for it coming out, even for 1.6. Its crazy), Morrowind (PC only, since there's once again STILL mods coming out for it. And a lot of them are pretty unique and cool stuff), and Team Fortress 2 (I don't even need extra mods to keep it replayable. Game's just so damn fun every time).

indeed, team fortress 2 is the type of game where even if you're a noob that's getting your ass handed to you, you're still gonna have a blast.

as for my list..

Diablo series

Fallout series

Left4Dead/anything made by valve

and morrowind sliding into 4th place.

1. Rock Band (play your favourite songs over and over again)

2. Resident Evil 4 (unlock fully sick guns only if you pass the game more than once)

3. Mortal Kombat Trilogy (i never get bored of passing the game in 15mins everyday)

I'm just going to count single-player games here because we all know how multi-player can extend the life of a game. Resident Evil 4 Chrono Trigger Guitar Hero / Rock band
