$599... giant enemy crabs... 4D/1080P... RIDDDDDDDDDDGE RACER! It's been three years and people still aren't forgeting about it. Not to mention the tough launch for the system and bad press it received.

I hate to admit it but you know it was evident...while most of the newer systems are fixed you cannot deny one of the biggest product recal in the history of electronics that cost MS over a billion dollars. I'm not denying the system's greatness but come one... rumors of launch consoles in the upward 33% and rumors that MS knew of the problem makes it the most epic fail this gen. Now I'm off to play some Halo!

i agree with this. i want a 360 but the only thing that stops me is rrod i dont want to deal with that. i know it comes with warranty so what i dont want to deal with any of that either

It made itself out to be the second coming, but instead it was a solid game for one or two hours, but then the missions just start repeating themselves over and over and over again.

Luckily though the second one is shaping up to be much better than the first which frankly isn't that hard.

The RROD happened to me 3 TIMES. I was so pissed i sold my xbox 360 and got less than half the price i paid for it and now i am a sony fanboy. :D

And the hd dvd addon and 360 were representitive of HD DVD how? as well i paid 50 dollars for my hd dvd and have a decent hd dvd collection i got all these hd dvd movies on the cheap when it would have cost me far more for a blu ray player or blu ray versions of said movies.

We can argue on which epic fail should be on the top 5 of the list. But I do agree that PS3 is # 1 on the epic fail all due to their market position dramatic shift from market leader, to 3rd place. As Wii was unbelievably became the market leader, it is also unbelievably that PS3 is on 3rd place. Nintendo was in 2nd place with their N64 before they became 3rd with Gamecube (but the sales are close with XBox). Sony in contrast, suddenly dropped to 3rd place and lost the most userbase and it has been out 3 years already.

HD-DVD is possibly Microsoft's worst mistake this gen. They were unwilling to take a gamble on HD-DVD so they thought they should leave it up to the consumers to take the gamble instead, now those people have been consigned to selling it to second hand buyers for $25. Just nasty.
