top 5 games of 2010

List your top 5 most anticipated games of 2010 and why.

1. Bioshock2: First game was amazing now it has multiplayer

2.Red Dead Redemption: just saw the trailer and it is amazing

3.Castlevania lord of shadows: Looks like another amazing hack and slash

4. Battlefield Bad company 2: looks great

5. Darksiders: Zelda meets god of war

1. Heavy Rain (PS3)-I love adventure games and I'm excited to see how this title turns out.
2. Alan Wake (360)- I'm a huge fan of Sam Lake's writing and Remedy hasn't disappointed me yet.
3. the Witcher 2 (PC)- Sequel to my favorite CRPG's to come out this gen.
4. Mass Effect 2- I loved the first title Bioware is pretty good at making RPGs with good stories and characters in a great Sci-Fi universe.
5. The Last Guardian/ Final Fantasy XIII- TLG-Team Ico is one of my favorite dev teams around I expect TLG to be epic. FFXIII- I like the FF series a lot (except FFX, Mystic Quest, 5 and 3 (Original and DS remake) so I expect XIII to be good. So far what I've seen so far 13 looks pretty good.

I would be fine just having ME2 and SMG 2. Guesstimating around 200hrs of gameplay between the two.

1. Mass Effect 2: Best RPG of the generation. Improves upon virtually everything from the first game and imports the decisions made. We might have the Game of the Year 2010 in the first month of next year. Already preordered and payed off the Collector's Edition.

2. Metroid Other M: A Metroid co-developed by Nintendo R&D1 and Team Ninja. Supposedly 2.5D with some FPS and third person action mixed in. A new melee system also. Gonna be awesome.

3. Super Mario Galaxy 2: Sequel to Game of the Generation. Yoshi is added into the mix. Might incorporate Wii Motion Plus. What is not to be excited about?

4. Deus Ex 3: Not confirmed for 2010, but rumored. Sequel to one of favorite games of all time. Cinematics are being developed Square-Enix. Going back to what made the first game so great. I have my doubts, but I hope it delievers.

5. Red Steel 2: Looks to take full advantage of Wii Motion Plus. Great sword fighting gameplay. Great graphics. I also have my doubts, but this could end up being an excellent game.

This list could very well change as more and more information about certain games (Alan Wake, Castlevania, Dead Space 2, etc.) comes out over the coming year. Who knows, maybe even Legend of Zelda Wii will end up on this list (prays).

Starcraft II- We've been waiting nearly ten years for this.

Dragon Ball DS 2/Dragon Ball: Origins 2- It's coming in early 2010 in Japan, but like the first one that was released in Japan mid '08 and out of Japan in late '08, I have a pretty good feeling it's coming out of Japan later 2010. Not only that, a sequel to my most favorite Dragon Ball game of all time.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom- Eighting (developers behind Naruto: Clash of Ninja and Zatch Bell! Mamodo Battles) is developing a game crossover game between Capcom's game characters with Tatsunoko's anime characters. I'm worried it'll critically fail Capcom wise (since most anime games fail critically anyway, but I enjoy them anyways. Not only that, Eighting doesn't really have a good record with critical scores).

Sin and Punishment 2- Probably the closest thing to a Star Fox Wii (until THE actual Star Fox Wii comes out) as we can possibly get. It's Under the Radar, so there might not be a lot of attention.

Red Steel 2- Looks like a major improvement over the original (here's hoping).

1. Mass Effect 2 - First one was great, and this one looks to be better.

2. Heavy Rain - Don't have a PS3, and I can't stand quick time events, but I loved Indigo Prophecy.

3. Final Fantasy XIII - Haven't played a FF game since VII, this is as good a time as any to get back into it since it's coming out on 360 too.

4. Star Wars: The Old Republic - Another Bioware game, need I say more?

5. Halo: Reach - I'm interested to see what they do with the Reach storyline. Maybe we'll just play as Master Chief with the storyline of the novel, maybe it'll be something completely different.

I'll stick with my top 5 in the first half of the year -

The definite

1. Mass Effect 2 - i'm a massive fan of the franchise (pun intended. :p).
2. God of War 3 - been waiting since that cliffhanger ending on God of War 2.
3. Final Fantasy 13 - my first Final Fantasy game that i'm buying when it's current (i've played 4 and 7 but only years after since they've been released).
4. Gran Turismo 5 - very much looking for it, the racing game of the gen for me.
5. Pokemon Soul Silver - what can i say.... i really like Pokemon, and while i don't buy each iteration, i do buy every other game (when substantial changes have been made despite how small they may be).

I didn't even touch other big games i'm looking forward to. Not to mention any game coming in Q3 and Q4.

1: Halo Reach - Halo 3 had the best console multiplayer I've played. Balanced, fun & I never found it tiresome.

2: God of War III - God of War I & II were awesome, III will be next gen quality.

3: Final Fantasy XIII - I'm a casual Final Fantasy fan. I wasn't to fond of X & didn't play XII, but I was addicted to VII & VIII. This gives off an X feel to me, but I'm looking forward to it either way. I'm more interested in Versus, but I think it will be released in 2011.

4: Darksiders - Supposed to be like Zelda. I love the art direction, reminds me of Blizzards style, as well as the character design. Gameplay looks amazing, & I heard its 25 hours to complete if you only focus on the story, & upwards of 35 hours if you want to complete it all.

5: The Last Guardian - Loved Shadow of the Colossus, I have high expectations of TLG.

Maybe Mass Effect 2 should be on that list but I wasn't really interested when I played the first, though I plan to try it again some time & give it more of a chance. Bioshock 2 will be good, but I got burnt out on Bioshock after my second playthrough. I feel playing as a Big Daddy may ruin the atmosphere that the first had also. Also, the next Zelda game should be awesome, but I don't own a Wii.

1. FFXIII - I haven't been this excited for a game in a loooong time.
2. Bayonetta - Game has style, and the combos are going to be awesome
3. Resonance of Fate - The battle system intrigues the hell out of me
4. Pokemon Heart Goul and Soul Silver - Love Pokemon, love Gold/Silver, naturally I want the remakes badly
5. Tales of Graces (hopefully) - Big fan of the Tales series, but I just hope it comes to NA in 2010

It was hard leaving some off the list such as White Knight Chronicles, SMT: Strange Journey, and FFXIV. I guess I kind of just listed them now though :P

MechWarrior Reboot, nothing better than this simulator

Reach, just the awesome Halo/3year thing, Bungie is the best at what they do

Splinter Cell Conviction, co-op will be unsurpassed

Apparently a rumored GTA, Vice City of San Andreas setting is returning, can't pass that up anyday, so it's my reserve.
