They're all PC flight sims, probably. I don't play them anymore, though. But seriously... flight sims allow you to adjust EVERYTHING.

I think TC is referring to realism gameplay/story/theme wise etc. I could be wrong.

It's Modern Warfare 2. Duh.mo0ksi

The plot was way too over the top, but gameplay wise, it seems realistic.

It depends. Far Cry 2 aimed for realism and succeeded in some areas, but completely failed in others. STALKER has probably the most realistic gunplay in shooters, and also has the vulnerability of the player and the A-Life system which allows AI of all sorts to behave naturally. Then there's the tons and tons of simulators, but they speak for themselves.

Arma 2, rainbow six raven shield, admitedly while not reallistic, the recoil of the weapons in cod2 was done very well. Soldier of fortune payback (What why?) Because enemies arms and legs can be blown off with a few shots (which is reallistic in comparison with games like fear that the enemies can still shoot with a 10mm spike shoved in their brain) and you cant take many htis either, but the bosses take plenty hits unfortantly.

Killzone 2 is pretty realistic for a shooter even tho it's sci-fi. Crysis is technically better but is a little like Halo with the super soilder powers and what not which isn't very realistic IMO.

GT5p is also very realistic, yes I think Foza 3 is the better game, but it isn't as realistic a GT5P imo

If you are talking about looks then Metro 2033 is on top.

If you are talking about gameplay then all of them would be PC simulators like this one.

It's only fair to say simulators (flight, combat, etc) since that's their main draw. Flight sims take the bulk although there are others like ArmA 2. From my collection:

1. DCS: Black Shark:

2. X-Plane 9:

3. Flight Simulator X

4. ArmA 2:

I used to have the demo and had some screenies. I can't seem to remember where I left them though.

5. A number of racing sims. On the console side, I'd go along with the Forza and GT series as being sims..... close enough anyway for me. Others may not agree.

It's taking me longer than that. But then, I'm being diverted away from gaming quite a bit. I haven't played a game for a while. Of course, the World Cup didn't help matters any. Plus, we have a road trip coming up.

DCS Blackshark is probably the most realistic flight sim on the market. I won't even touch that software as it is about as hardcore as you get.

As for infantry sims there is a game called Steel Beasts which is a civilian version of the software used in M1A1 Abrams simulators.

As for infantry, nothing beats ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead:

Another very realistic FPS is WWII Online. A MMOFPS that is a infantry sim, flight sim, tank sim, and naval sim. It's epic:

Another good WWII FPS sim is called Red Orchestra. It nails infantry combat like no other but lacks the large scale battles. This is the mod Darkest Hour for it:

This is number 1.

If you don't look out of the wing mirror when turning corners, you fail, and have to start again.

Now that's realism!

Steel Beasts PRO

Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark

iRacing

Falcon 4.0: Allied Assault

Flight simulator X

I didn't name ARMA2, because while it's by far the most realistic shooter, the vehicles are very simplified, plus it is possible to simulate plane pretty closely, human soldier? Infinitely more difficult.

You need to define realistic. I guess a game that stays within the realm of reality would be Heavy Rain. There arent too many.

If youre asking for games that look realistic, then there are many. Like Heavy Rain, Red Dead Redemption, etc.

*Insert PC vehicle and war simulations here* DCS Black Shark is up there. As far as shooters go, ArmA 2 is well known.

The Sims fo sho. :P

SecretPolice
Actually, you know The Sims is frighteningly real in terms of a.i. behavior at times. Sure it is designed to be exaggerated and eccentric, but it is also very tangible.
