  1. Act like a fanboy (I think we can all agree on this one)
  2. Hype games (guilty)
  3. Collect games i.e. sealed/stored (they're meant to be enjoyed)
  4. Buy games based on movies/cartoons
  5. Trust retail employees.....(BB,CC,EB,GS,GC)
I would like some feedback if possible :D
If you disagree feel free to make your own list :)

But still doesn't mean that most movie based/etc. was average or worse. Exceptions shouldn't count because any subject there will be those hits out of 20 misses events.

Agreed 1 billion %.

That game was amazing. Better than the movies in terms of story and characters... and had amazing gameplay... stealth... fighter... shooter... rpg... all in one...

  1. Trust Console Developers
  2. Purchase a game for the franchise tag alone.
  3. Purchase a console for the franchises monopolized by the console.
  4. Assosiate the success of a console with the games made for that console.
  5. Purchase Windows Vista.

i can really see why not being a fanboy isnt in ur list

btw why would u buy a 360 if u can get all the good 360 games on pc sooner or later
if u have the money the optimal combo would be pc/ps3/wii
pc/ps3 alone guarantees u get to play all the good 360 games

It's a lot of older stuff, NES, TG16, 3DO etc...The reason why I haven't opened them is because A) I don't have an NES. B) It's in the package! C) No interest in playing most of that stuff anyways. It's just cool to own.

No, not limited production really...but not all games need to be limited production to grow in value. Look at FF VII, sold millions and worth $100 or so sealed. I currently have Suikoden Tactics, FF: CC, and MGS2 all sealed...I spent ten on each and hopefully they will grow to make me a profit sooner or later.(well I won't sell the MGS2, but the other two can grow if they are worth anything in 5 years).

Have you ever thought of selling them you could get an unexpected amount of money :o Like the 40 year old virgin (don't mean that your 40 or old or a virgin) but he made some nice mullah of off his collection...sure it's a movie but still there's some desperate people out there. I knew someone would say 40 year old virgin. Haha. Well, I already own the software, so I'll play it however I want to. And I am in the process of selling a lot of the stuff. I only plan on keeping my TG16 and 3DO collections. I am the original owner of the systems and have near complete sets. I even had a Kisado for the TG16.

Sorry about the movie reference  but hey that's something you could definitely show your grandkids in the future, I mean what's cooler than a gamer grandparent? Well I'm assuming, TG16 and 3DO had small libraries but they're probably worth more than most since they're the hardest to find.

In America they each had around 70 games, somewhere around there. But I got the PC Engine -> Duo/TG16 converter, so there are lots of JPN HuCards that I don't have.

Wow, there's quite a few games based on movies/shows that were good. Spiderman 2, Chronicles of Riddick, the SNES Batman game, Goldeneye and you could even say the original Metal Gear.......don't be so harsh on the whole lot of them.

Here's my top 5 on what gamers shouldn't do:
1. Enjoy a game more just because on what system it's on, or because people you know says it's good.
2. Talk excessively about games in public or excessively use jokes from games - they're not funny the 4th time around.
3. Re-inact any action scene from any game: unless you're a professional mokap artist
4. Compare graphics of good-looking next-gen games to decide that one sucks (unless you professionally know that YOU could do better).
5. Pick up a game from EB (unless you preordered) - seriously there are better prices and deals than that **** Gamers are commonly fooled by EB because gamers think a store who specialises in games, must be also have the cheapest deals.

  1. Act like a fanboy (I think we can all agree on this one)
  2. Hype games (guilty)
  3. Collect games i.e. sealed/stored (they're meant to be enjoyed)
  4. Buy games based on movies/cartoons
  5. Trust retail employees.....(BB,CC,EB,GS,GC)
I would like some feedback if possible :D
If you disagree feel free to make your own list :)

EDIT: Hyped SSX Blur as AA, do what you must
lzorro
1. True, but everyone is a fanboy deep inside, as there will allways be one console you'll take above the other. 2. Why not? when you hype games, a lot of people might try them out and end up eventually liking them. 3. Very True, I don't see the point in keeping them sealed. 4. Goldeneye? 5. Well, that's everyone's own opinion, I only buy at the closest game store.

Top 5 things a gamer shouldn't do: 5. Boast about system ownership without substance - For example, it's ok to say I have a 360, and I love it, but I don't think I'd want a PS3 because... 4. Assume that anyone with differing tastes than said individual is not a "gamer" 3. Be a dick, seriously, gamers have nothing to gain fighting about stupid crap outside of competition within games. We just have preferences, and that doesn't mean we need to fight about stupid crap. 2. Post on GS about how GS is a bad site because of the review they gave a game back in 1994 that they just found out about now .... .... .... AND WITHOUT FURTHER ADO! .... 1. Say that the XBox isn't huge, because it's massive... and the PS3 for that matter, I guess the new generation of systems means that systems are hybrid Console/Computer/Coffee Tables...

Rash generalizations FTL....

It's not a rash generalization - your brain isn't even fully developed until your mid-twenties. Until you're really on your own - paying the bills, working a job, going to college because it interests you (not just because you falsely believe it will make you money) - you're left with poor social skills, a false sense of entitlement, and the bad habit of just doing things to annoy people. The secret to being popular in high school was to drive a car, skip class, smoke, keep your mouth shut, play coy with the teachers, and never be mean to the friends of girls you wanted to date. The secret to college is to drop classes you don't want to take, graduate with a business or engineering degree, get laid as often as possible, don't let your parents find out your actual grades (ever), lose your sense of responsibility, and become friends with motivated people. Some of those things transfer over to the real world (social skills, not working your rear off to make someone else rich, get laid whenever possible, be friends with successful people, keep your mouth shut, never be mean to your wife's friends, drive a car, lie to your parents, stop feeling responsible for things you can't control) some of them don't (smoke).
