But...i guess that Star Craft 2 is the main event of 2008.

Gears of Wars 2 is coming out this year?

Spore, GTAIV, Brawl, Gears 2 and LittleBigPlanet. That's it... nothing else stands a chance.

I can cut the list down even more... Spore. That's it.

Um, none of those games are even out, so you cant judge how well they will contend. Wait untill november to start GOTY disscussions.

In not particular order.

I think GOTY should go to the highest fun to Power/Graphics/physics(technical aspec) ratio.

I dont think SSBB belongs, not that it isnt fun i just dont think its as inovative as say GTA4. granted i have yet to play GTA4 but having multiplayer in full world GTA is not only going to be incredible fun it will also be a technical feat.

I think it'll come down to GTAIV, MGS4, and GeOW2. Basically because, MGS4 is the biggest Sony exclusive this year, same goes with GeOW2. GTAIV... we all know the story behind it!

No, but some time ago several people on the system wars board would say "Ridge Racerr!!!" in post after post to insenuate that Ridge Racer was the only thing that PS3 had in terms of games.

I see GTA IV, MGS4, SC2, and Spore as being the top contenders for game of the year.

I can't see Gears of War 2 being one of them.

I think GTA IV has a lock on it, but Spore, Starcraft and Fallout could have a chance IMO.

I really can't see it going any other way.

GTA IV and Starcraft probably the main canditates

canditates will also be Spore, Left for dead, Stalker clear sky(if its not buggy like the first stalker) and not forgetting far cry 2

Uh, I believe the reasoning there would be the 9.5 score it received.

This could easily change because we still don't know all of the games that will release this year it could be a game that is not even announced yet.

Are all pretty much what i care about this year. The rest are a bonus.

The only reason I think GTA4 might not win is that it's pretty early in the year and review sites tend to have a short memory.

The game got a flippin' 10 on IGN. When was the last time you saw that???? Like ...never?
