Top five consoles of all time. (56k)

This is my list, which is the correct list obviously. If you happen to be me.

1. Super Nintendo Entertainment System

Though I only ever owned a cheap famiclone which could play a limited number of SNES/NES games.. it was still so damn awesome. I've went back and played the hell out of the SNES lately ever since the current gen consoles have gotten so damn boring.

2. Playstation 2

Never was a console made up of so much epic win, except the above.

3. Playstation 1

Despite only owning one of those remake slim line PS1s, I played the heck out of this console in that one and a half year between this and when I bought the Playstation 2. More than a certain other console which comes at 5th.

4. Nintendo 64

This was the console that made up the majority of my childhood after my super famiclone broke. N64 ftw.

5. Dreamcast

I owned this one between the N64 and my PS1, odd but it was a very enjoyable system with plenty of great games in that time.

I love my 360 especially the arcade and Live, but PS2 is still king of the gaming systems. Too bad Sony dropped the ball so hard with PS3.

I am dead serious. Playstation 2 was awesome, but the time in XBL with Halo 2 made me like my Xbox much more than my PS2.

My list in Chronological order in which I owned the system.

SNES - IMO the original JRPG king.

PSX - Minus the ninty franchises, it felt more like the Snes than the N64 did.

Dreamcast - Best fighting game line-up at one point in time. SC, MVC and MVC2. SNK vs Capcom 1 and 2. Just to name a few. Also Powerstone 2. One of my all time favorites.

Xbox - Halo.

Xbox 360 - Online like never before. Gears of War 1 and Hopefully I'll live to play 2.

16 bit era was ok , wit hgreat games and all , but the true revolution begun with PS-Saturn gen. True 3d games , new genres , innovation at its fullest for home gaming. Was the gen with the most successful new IPS - Genres ever. Thats why i vote PSone as my best console till now. Easily.

1. gamecube(yes i know it's a gamecube but i really enjoyed all the games i bought for it, probably the most out of any system ever)

to be honest i owned a GBC and i found it disapointing, othen the legend of zelda games and metal gear solid i cant think of any good games for it

Ok I'm probably going to get flamed to death and called all manner of things, but these are my top five favourite consoles. I'm not saying these are the top five, just the five which I've got the best and fondest collection of memories from. I don't think anyone can give an overulling authoritative opinion on what the five best consoles are, so I'm just going to give my five favourites.

In NO particular order:

1) Playstation

2) Playstation 2

3) Sega Genesis/Mega-Drive II

4) Nintendo DS

5) Nintendo Gamecube - laugh all you want, but I experienced the likes of Resident Evil 4, the Resi remake and Zero, Wind Waker, the first two Metroid games, my first ever Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart games, and unique gems like Eternal Darkness and Harvest Moon on my gamecube so I've got a LOT of fond memories from it.

I've deliberately kept any of the current big three off there purely because I'd get ridiculed, but my PS3 already holds a very prominent place - it was my first proper foray into online gaming with Metal Gear Online and Team Fortress 2, and I've already had such incredible gaming experiences on it as Metal Gear olid 3, Oblivion, The Orange Box and Grand Theft Auto IV, so I've really got no complaints against it whatsoever. These four titles alone in the space of a year are enough for me!
