1. Killzone 2. History repeats itself. As you can see if you look carefully in the videos, the AI is poor. There is an instance where the player storms into a sniper tower and kills one enemy, while the other glares at his ally's corpse and then continues to shoot at the humans down below, before getting blasted in the back himself. Also, the graphics are nice, but all gray, and Guerilla Games will surely neglect to remove plenty of bugs, as they did with their last 3 games. It won't be a commercial flop, but it sure as hell won't be the reason to own a PS3 in 2009.
2. Ghostbusters. Enough said.
3. Resident Evil 5. People will be saying that despite the graphical improvements and new setting, the game is almost exactly the same as RE4. Of course, they will rave about the co-op. It will be a good game, but it won't be Resident Evil 4.
4. Halo Wars. Ensemble is bankrupt and I'm sure they're still pretty sore with Microsoft. Plus, RTS games just aren't fit for consoles. Hope all you want, but the game doesn't look very good at all, and it won't be given these circumstances, as much as it pains me to talk trash about Ensemble.
5. Brutal Legend. Production issues galore, a decision to make it multiplatform, and the inclusion of Jack Black. I won't blame it on Tim Schafer when this game fails to live up to the likes of Psychonauts and Grim Fandango.
6. Borderlands. Just watch the videos. I'm not sure this one will even hit the shelves, much less on time to impress anyone at all.
7. Splinter Cell Conviction. Riddled with development issues and cursed by the recent incompetence of Ubisoft Montreal, who has produced nothing but mediocrity since Assassin's Creed. Truly a sad day when this one releases--Chaos Theory is my favorite game.
8. Duke Nukem Forever. The new gameplay footage says enough.
Any others? Flame away, hopefuls.
