On RDR - "the combat mechanics are excellent"
Really? RDR does a lot of things extremely well, but I wouldn't say the combat is one of them...
List needed more Vanquish!
I'm glad to see GOW3 so high up on the list. It maintained a sense of "epicness" throughout it's entire campaign, which I have never seen another game achieve, not even it's predecessors. That and the boss fights were sooooo incredible, most notably Hercules, Poseidon, and Hades.

I was a bit underwhelmed by GoW3, but still think its the best in the series. Ghost of Sparta is my second favorite.
I think SC2 had many, many moments of epicness. Stuff that GoW3 couldn't provide.

I felt the same. I really liked GoW3, but it didn't think it was as good as GoW2. Plus, the gameplay is starting to grow stale for me.

I also felt that GOW3 was a small step down from 2. 2 just did so many things right, and never made a slip-up. It's one of the few games that I feel truly deserves a perfect 10. I still love 3 to death though.
I approve of this post. :D1. Starcraft 2
2. Everything else pales in comparison. No point in going on.

GoW2 bored me to death. Could be because my friend took the controller and wouldn't give it back, but I went back and played the HD collection.
Very unimpressed. I liked the first more.

Good. Good. On topic, the list has the right games on it. They're just in the wrong order.[QUOTE="ChubbyGuy40"][QUOTE="DarkLink77"] I approve of this post. :DDarkLink77

Good. Good. On topic, the list has the right games on it. They're just in the wrong order. It lacks Darksiders, Metro 2033, Arma II OA, and Amnesia. Oh and GT5 (NOT! good game tho.)
Take off Alan Wake, Halo Reach, and RDR. Put first three up there in their place. I'd personally take down ME2 as I just got bored with it and haven't found it much fun, same with RDR, and throw Amnesia up there.

I disagree. Alan Wake, RDR, and Reach were some of my favorites last year. I loved Darksiders, but it wasn't top ten material imo.[QUOTE="ChubbyGuy40"][QUOTE="DarkLink77"] Good. Good. On topic, the list has the right games on it. They're just in the wrong order.DarkLink77

I got it on PC for xmas (played it day 1 on PS3 btw) and was floored by how much better it looks on PC, and there isn't any settings to mess with. Visually this game curbstomps most games out there, plus it feels just like Zelda with God of War elements.
Alan Wake...ok I admit I haven't played it yet. Its always out of stock at Blockbuster. From videos and reviews this game seems dead boring and pales in comparison to SH:SM (Another brilliant and underrated game. Damn Wii haturz.) RDR I bought day 1 for PS3. Bored within 3 hours. Reach was just...eh. Legendary isn't challenging and the MP isn't fun. 5.0 or 6.0 at the best.
when i saw yakuza 3 at tenth spot i was like "oh ok... ill keep watching" then i saw red dead and i skipped through the video... i would take out read dead , reach and wowcampzor
I was surprised RDR wasn't in the top 5.

I loved Darksiders. I actually took the time to 100% it. Was tons of fun. But Alan Wake really wowed me, and I loved RDR. Reach was good in a lot of ways (gameplay) but the maps were awful and armor lock is a terrible, terrible thing. For games that came out last year that I played it goes
1) Super Mario Galaxy 2 (an experience I will take to the grave with me along with perhaps two others within my long gaming career)
2) Donkey Kong Country Returns
3) Others (3D Dot game Heroes, Modnation Racers, Sin and Punishment. Tatsunoko vs Capcom, No more Heroes 2, Monster Hunter Tri, etc)
[QUOTE="BPoole96"]Thanks, good Yakuza 3 deserves to be mentioned.YAKUZA 3 WAS MAD AWESOMEFor the lazy, their list was:
- WoW: Cataclysm
- Mass Effect 2
- God of War 3
- Super Mario Galaxy 2
- Heavy rain
- Starcraft 2: Wnigs of Liberty
- Halo Reach
- Alan Wake
- Red Dead Redemption
- Yakuza 3

I can't listen to the guy who's talking. He is so unprofessional. "All of the games on this list are really really great." Sounds like middle school journalism.
EDIT: and after looking at their list, what a terrible list.
Clearly PC gamersLed_poisonNot even close. Do you even realize how many of those games aren't on PC?
