Top Ten Overated Game?

It's a pretty good list.

I agree with everything except Harvest Moon and Goldeneye. However, I understand how people can find the former overrated...it's definitely a niche game.

And before people start ripping the guys throat out about FFVII, read what he said...it's a great game, but he included it on his list because he thinks it's not the best game ever when many, many claim it to be. That's a valid point.

I'm predicting at least 1/3 of the posts in this thread will agree with Halo and say it's the most overrated game ever.-Tretiak

I agree with #9, #2, and ESPECIALLY #1. GoldenEye wasn't anything special, not even at the time of its release. Final Fantasy VII is the most overrated Final Fantasy of all time, it's not funny. It was great, but undeserving of an entire compilation dedicated to its story; for the time, it was great, but better Final Fantasies and better JRPGs have been released..

Number 1: Halo! God, I can't agree enough; it's downright overrated, to the point of utter misery. I've played Halo 3, and beat it, and thought it was fun, but not deserving of all the accolades. The other Halos, I've played in short splurts here and there and they're nothing special either. I just can't put my finger on why this series is so revered, and especially, when Microsoft and other publications make so much generalizations that ALL Xbox and Xbox 360 owners must own it and/or bought their system just to play it. It's crazy..

The other games, meh. The rest of them aren't mentioned too much; they should've put Ocarina of Time, the Grand Theft Auto series, and Nintendogs.

Well, to be fair...the guy who created the list has a point. In regards to the points he brought up about the series, it is a tad overrated. OK, not just a tad...but extremely overrated. If I hear one more person at Gamestop praising Halo by calling it the best game ever, I'm going to tear my hair out and strangle them with a wired controller.

I disagree with Mario kart and Goldeneye(I was playing goldeneye yesterday with some friends and its still just as fun as it ever was) I havent played Sonic CD, or harvest moon so I cant say anything about those, and I 100% agree with the SIMS and animal crossing I dont Find either of them enjoyable. As for the rest of them, I cant say that they dont deserve to be there.laughingman42

no i agree with some of the points he made.. and i also feel that many people are overprasing the game to point that they feel its the only great FPS game out there.

im glad he also put ff7 in that list..its another game victim of its own fame and success

Yes it was.... it so was. Goldeneye revolutionized FPS games and it had an extensive multiplayer. That was so amazing back in the day.

Halo 1 and Halo 2 deserved their scores but I felt that Halo 3 was a tad overrated. I didn't really enjoy multiplayer as much as Halo 2 and the story wasn't really much of a fitting end to the Halo series.

Definately agree with.....

1. Mortal Kombat since it was crap compared to the SNK and Capcom Fighters
2. Final Fantasy VII as its not even the best Final Fantasy let alone the so called best JRPG or GOAT.
3. Golden I DEFINATLY AGREE WITH! I mean seriously it was amazing but the fact that people think its better then Perfect Dark justifies it as being one of the most overrated games ever.
4. Halo is overrated for no other reason then a console fanbase who is uneducated for the most part about FPS on PC. God dammit some casuals don't even know what Half-Life or Counter Strike is....

yeah , this is what i think. as far as oblivion was concerned its levelling system and NPC AI was pretty broken.
