When the vid started I thought I was looking at a potentially really good racing sim, but then when they did the skateboard jumps I was just.....:?
Graphics are up there, but as a game...I think I'll pass.

You should really give the game a shot, its really fun. You can play one of the trackmania games on steam for free. Well worth it.
 have u ever played a trackmania game before its defiantly not a sim and when i was watching the video i taught the opposite is this rly a trackmania game? but once they did the half-pipe jump it was all good. When the vid started I thought I was looking at a potentially really good racing sim, but then when they did the skateboard jumps I was just.....:?

nope, thats why I had no idea what to expect.
The devs clearly say it's in-game. The two French gaming sites that already posted articles about it say so too.
Can't link because of Glitchspot, but you can find them in the TM2 forums I posted earlier.
The track creator is seen from like a mile in the sky. But even so I can clearly observe the shadows of the clouds and of the objects, and the same sky. In the race you can see the exact same environment.
Trackmania has a video editor, that's what they talk about with "video shootee en haute qualite".
The dev says that in the video too. Jeuxvideo.com also says it's in-game graphics. You can even see a giant bug in the longer video, a yellow car passes through a fence. And it features the car overlap of the MP mode in the final part of the video.
And seriously, who the hell would replicate a complicated track made in the editor for a CGI trailer? Everything is identical.
That has to be CGI. The trees are too goodCouth_This is a PC game that won't be released for another year at least. There's no reason to think that consumer hardware won't be able to catch up in time.
Trackmania is a game without damage or physics modelling, other than the car's weight. This allows them to divert MORE COWBELL to the other departments, the older games also look great and have very low requirements.
The original poster added the translations of what the developer says during the video (mostly "I told you it's stunning" )

True.
Not to mention it's fun as hell to play with your friends off or online!!
And very frustrating at the same time. Winning a gold medal feels like winning a goddamn war.

Especially in such variety.
are you serious? are you really ****ing serious? you do know TM was and never will be anything related to realisticWhen the vid started I thought I was looking at a potentially really good racing sim, but then when they did the skateboard jumps I was just.....:?

BTW, the trailer isn't really gameplay is it? It's just a teaser trailer for the game right? I want to see some real gameplay vids to know if the graphics are really that good. ( I already know the gameplay is pretty fun and crazy!)

Trackmania Nations Forever is FREE and looks freakin amazing, hell, a free game looks better than most on PS3 and 360, Nadeo know what they're doing, the game WILL look like that
I'll never understand how people could possibly like a racing sim, especially alongside Trackmania. When the vid started I thought I was looking at a potentially really good racing sim, but then when they did the skateboard jumps I was just.....:?

I doubt it will look better than GT5 or Forza3. But I loved the trailer and how it started pretending to be a normal racing game to finally break into typical Trackmania insanity :)
I LOVE Trackmania. The whole competition, challenges, obstacles are really addictive.
what makes this game really good is the track editor. you can create insane and crazy challenging tracks. sometimes its funny as hell
infact im going to re download trackmania right now off steam :)
