Traded in PS3 for 360

After 2 years I'd had enough. Owning a PS3 was boring due to the lack of exclusives with any gameplay depth or longevity. They just seem to be terrribly overrated action/adventures like MGS4, more recently Uncharted 2 and Batman Arkam Asylum. Impressive but...shallow. GTA 4 is really the only amazing game to appear on the system. There's also a depressing graphical consistency, a sort of washed out, pixellated look, as if the console still can't do anti-aliasing. Will anyone ever be able to programme around that dated graphics chip and take advantage of the CPU? Hopefully... it's been a while, maybe it's not possible. So I'm playing Mass Effect on the 360 now, after ages. It's truely a classic with real atmosphere. Also looking forward to Lost Odyssey and FF13, being a sucker for a decent J-RPG.

For those who think the PS3 is just coming into it's own, it's the future etc, look at the current releases and think how long it's been out. IMO Sony thought that comsumers would buy it as a blue-ray player and console combined, not a games console primarily, and that has had an effect on what kind of games have been (and will be) made for it.

Um, I've had my 360 for over 2 years and it never got the RROD. And the failure rate of Xbox360's are at about 5%, in which is not much higher than the Ps3's, which is at 4% I believe.

And at the moment, Mass Effect 2 looks like it'll be one of the best games of this year. I like Ps3, but first MAG flops and now WKC flopped. It's making me pretty nervous about the games coming out this year.

Pretty early to call MAG a flop. I thought it was selling decently. WKC might not be getting stellar reviews, but it just came out today so its way too early to call that a flop.

By the way, your percentages on failure rates made me laugh.

Naw, i wasnt laughing at you. If i'm wrong, then i have no problem admitting it. Just a 1% difference with everything i've seen and heard seemed hard to imagine. No worries man.

You don't seem like some of these fakeboy types what we see in SW around here a lot,

If you can, keep your eye out for those fakeboy types! I'll help you out, and tell you what to look for. It's usually new accounts where a hardcore 360 guy pretends to have been a longtime PS3 dude (swap any console if you want, Wii for 360, etc.) and ends up switching. Then, they come here and tell us all within days of their new GS account. They give good new posters like yourself a bad rap with some SW users...not me though! We are all one happy family! :P

Luckily, what we have here in this thread a lot more honest, which I can tell, it's in the details. This seems the real deal.Enjoy your new Machine. I have a few 360's myself :)

It's really a pretty great game, but if you're jonesing to try it without dropping $60, try renting it first. You should get a good feel for it if you rent it for a few days.

Well, Demon's Souls was GOTY on Gamespot and Uncharted 2 was GOTY pretty much everywhere else. Maybe not fair to count both, but he wasnt entirely offbase.

Killzone 2... what was so good? Nothing new, yet predictably it reviews well just for competent execution. Both games still have a slightly grainy look, like Xbox 1 games on steroids.

I bought the 40 GigPS3 early 08, mainly for the FF13 exclusive that no longer is. Believe me or don't. Sony were great for the industry in the past, but the PS3 is aimed at a different consumer and just means more blandness IMO.

1. UC2 and Demon's Souls both got GOTY last year, just on different websites. Of course, MW2 also got GOTY on Gametrailers, so take that however you want.

2. I don't know who you think you're talking about, but some of my favorite games this gen are multiplat. Bayonetta, AC2, and looking forward to the upcoming FF13.

3. Lemmings have just as many raving fanboys, so there's no need to make sweeping generalizations.

Beside Mass Effect, what other kind of game the X360 has that the PS3 doesn't?

You will not find games like The Last Guardian, God of War, Heavy Rain, etc on the X360. On top of that FFvsXIII, Agent(from the same studio that made GTAIV and it's an exclusive), DC universe online, free online, blu-ray,bluetooth, wi-fi, reliability, rechargeable controllers, PS1 BC!!!! I mean, that's too much for just Mass Effect that it's nothing more than another shooter disguised as an rpg.

The PS3 will even be getting the 50million DLC of GTAIV, "The Ballad of Gay Tony" and "The Lost and the Damned"! Multiplat games like Bioshock 2, Lost Planet 2, Mafia II, Red Dead Redemtion etc are around the corner too!

Sounds like the TC is playing on an SD tv, I recommend saving your money and buying a tv that can show your games in their actual glory, funny how you knock at 'exclusives' but then in the same sentence mention Batman, hilarious, enjoy your 360, I've got my pc/ps3 to keep me occupied for a loooong time, though mag is stealing most of it atm, GO SVER!
