So IGN gives it an 9.0 and Gamespot gave it a 6.5? Gamerankings has it at low AA rating. Talked about some mixed reactions. lol

IGN gives a 9 to everything marketed well enough. See Conviction.I can't believe there is 2.5 points difference between GS and IGN. How the hell does that happen?
IGN gives a 9 to everything marketed well enough. See Conviction. That's a bad example to use since IGN is only about 3.5% away from the average at GR.I can't believe there is 2.5 points difference between GS and IGN. How the hell does that happen?

That's a bad example to use since IGN is only about 3.5% away from the average at GR.Stevo_the_gamerThe game got 9.3 in IGN, Conviction metascore is 86. That's 7%, which is big enough.
It's a lot better than a 6.5. The mulitplayer is fantastic, very fun.
Although, I'm playing the PC version.
EDIT: I see why they downrated it, they mainly played the campaign. The multiplayer seems like the main draw, as it's so much more fun than the campaign, even when the campaign is co-op.
That'll teach me to get worked up about movie tie-ins.

It's not a movie tie-in. It's it's own thing.
GS has been pretty tough on the reviews lately. I thought they were way too harsh on Lost Planet 2

I noticed too, and I think it's a good thing. EG is another example of a review site that doesn't dish out the AAA ratings so easily. A game should work to deserve it. Many of the larger websites seem way too lenient, especially towards big name titles.
This goes to show me that My gaming tastes do not go with review sites these days. I love transformers, I am already replaying it on hard mode, I would give it a 9.0 where the hell did this 6.5 come from? I call BS. I also loved Mirrors edge that got a bad score as well.
It's a 77 on Metacritic atm. I think Gamespot was faaaar to harsh (from other teviews and the demo) and IGN was a bit too glowing. I actually prefer IGN's review. But the point, Gamespot screwed the pooch here and were waaay too harsh. There have been some other mediocre reviews (some 7.5's and etc) but nobody has been so downright negative about the game. Reviews are afterall just one guy's opinion, so I think it's far more useful to look at a conglomerate of opinions like metacritic.
SSo yes, IGn was probably too lax in their review, and 9.0 is too high. But there is NO WAY this game is a 6.5.
I also find it funny that a few days ago, it was 86 in metacritic, and now it's dropped 9 points down to 77 xD But 77 is still pretty damn solid.
I love the campain....... I am actually enjoying it the 2nd time around, this game is not a 6.5. I seriously dont understand this score. It's a lot better than a 6.5. The mulitplayer is fantastic, very fun.

I would easily give it a 9.0. I enjoyed it just as much as batman AA if not more. I actually liked the story, the MP is great, altho I have the pc version so there only seem to be 600 people on and I am sure that will fade out quickly. I can undertand too human getting a 5.5, seriously this revies is way off, I was sure it would get a 8.5 to 9.0 here, maybe they are pissed they didnt get ant bribe moneyIt's a 77 on Metacritic atm. im really disappointed with GS on this one. IGN is wrong and Gamespot is very wrong. this game is an 8. period. its not a 9 and definately not a 6.5. i feel bad for everyone at high moon studios. this game is very good. they did a great job creating a fun game. i guess thats why gamespot didnt like it, cause it wasnt complicated enough. just a fun shooting game with good voice acting, and great multiplayer. its not meant to be something more complicated. its robots fighting each other. its a shame that more people on this board wont try it because of what one lame reviewer from Failspot thought about it. i guess its no 10 like GTA 4........
They underrated it. Gamespot review team is trash
Nah I'm just kidding. I fully expected the game to suck :P
jg4xchampperhaps your just saying that so you wont get modded? and have you even play the game?
Im sure if it got a 9.0 here people here would run out and buy it, and enjoy iy and wouldnt know the difference I hope more people have sense to read other reviews other then just GSim really disappointed with GS on this one. I got super-owned. I predicted AA and "most surprisingly good game of the year" win on GS. :?
AvIdGaMeR444
Yup... super-owned sounds about right.
perhaps your just saying that so you wont get modded? and have you even play the game? demo wasn't fond of it. Thought the shooting was rather weak, and as far as MP games go I'd rather just stick to something else for my fix. and no I actually have no beef with the GS staff. I think they are a bit leniant at times with certain games, but overall meh they seem chill. I like them more than the D-bags at IGN, or some of the people on Gametrailers.
They underrated it. Gamespot review team is trash TheShadowLord07
Why is there just a score and no written review :| Why does Gs always take there sweet $$ time with reviews? It gets old

well i agreed with you till i read the spoiler part v.v

exactly. its a shame that everyone here will see the review and say "no thanks" or "fail". i remember when Need for Speed SHift came out last year and it got mixed reviews but i ended up really enjoying the game (it also had really easy achievements). anyways, like i said, i feel bad for highmoon studios because i think they did a great job. i just hope enough people dont let Failspot influence their gaming decisions and read a few other reviews.
Well i dont think it deserves a 6.5 and dont have issues with what they were complaining about. I think I would agree more with IGNs review. The game is pretty awesome.
Can some please explain how GS goes about reviewing games? I thought I knew but they do this sort of thing quite often so it just confuses me.tagyhagDifferent reviewers have different methods. I thought so too, but they have a standard they must fallow. But every once in a while they decide not too. Here's the guideline they're supposed to fallow. No matter who reviews the game: Link

My gaming tastes are usually on par with the reviews, it it get a good score chances are i will like it, if bad I hate it etc.. That is how it has been for years until now with mirrors edge and now transformers. it is honestly a great game and I am suprised people dont like it. I dont like crappy games usually, so how do I like these?First it was lost planet 2 and now under rated this game called Transformers War for Cybertron. if you guys have been checking out the user reviews for both ps3 and 360 version.... there is very high praise from GS members. I think we will start seeing bad reviews from the users from nowby hopping onthe hate train. high praise here . i think GS is losing their taste in games.
Let this be a warning to all those who are getting hypedfor the new Golden Eye.
Craptivision never fails to... fail.
