Back in 2000, I was still playing on my fairly new dreamcast. I purchaed one at launch and sold my n64 during the same day. Those games were fun; Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure 1(the good one), NFL2k, etc. Sega was still a great developer then.

PS2 was hitting it's stride and the "dolphin" aka Gamecube was on the horizion. HD was only known to the select few with Sony Wega's and Microsoft's Xbox was set to really be a graphics beast.

What were you playing 10 years ago?

I was still playing the original prince of persia games, along with flight simulator and some random jet fighter game that I used to love. That was all on my PC. My only other console at the time was a handheld, the Game Boy Color. I played Super Mario Bros. Classic and Pokemon Gold. Great times eh? :)

Ten years ago I was playing a crapload of Squaresoft RPGs on the PS1; that was back before their merger with Enix, back when they still had their focus on new IPs.

I chose to get an N64 over a Dreamcast in April 2000. I still wasn't very current with games at that point. I spent a lot of that year catching up with the best N64 games and Pokemon was still riding out it's heyday.

May 2000 was when I played THPS for the first time. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had with a video game.

10 years ago... hmmm.... memory is a bit fuzzy... when did the ps2 launch? 2001 or 2000? Anyway... I think I was playing Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur & Resident Evil: Code Veronica.

I kept my gaming systems in the common area of my dorm.... so there was no shortage of people for me to PWN in Soul Calibur. I played so much Crazy Taxi, that I kept 1 session going for 4.5 hours b4 my timer ran out. Looking back, sometimes I think I should have gone to class and not dropped out of school... but, if I had, I wouldnt have the children I have now, nor the wife... and my pockets wouldnt be stuffed with cash... so, I guess things worked themselves out.

Oh... Great thread.

In 2000, I was playing a lot of tabletop RPGs. D&D 3rd edition was brand new, and we also played tons of Vampire: The Masquerade. Also, I believe I even tried some sort of Robotech tabletop RPG at one point. A friend had a Dreamcast and we played the crap out of Soul Calibur and Soul Reaver. On my PC, I was playing a lot of Civ 3 as well as some Black Isle games. We also played board games; stuff like Risk, Castle Risk, Axis and Allies, Warhammer, Mage Knight and Gothic.

Good times. Good times, indeed.

I miss tabletop RPGs. :( Hopefully, one day I'll find a new group of people to play with.

I'd say it's more remarkable how games have changed since 20 years ago.

I believe I was playing PS and N64. On the PS, all sorts of games, especially Vigilante 8. On the N64 - Zelda: MM. I think it was out back then.

In 2000, I do believe I was still playing Starcraft and NHL 2001. I think I'd just gotten a shiny new 20GBHD, 256MB ram, 1.6 GHz Pentium IV Dell computer. I remember getting so excited when I bought my first video card... a 64mb GeForce 4 so I could play that Indiana Jones game that came out in 2001/2002 I don't remember. This was just before my days of Halo had begun.

Strictly a PC gamer during that time, jumped in the PS2 era shortly thereafter though.

I was pretty much PC-exclusive at that point (last console was the SNES). That year it was all about Diablo 2.
