Treyarch Says: Frostbite 2.0 Is Visually Stunning But Our Engine Can Be Updated

Josh Olin is a true gamers gamer, but with Battlefield 3 coming Call Of Duty is at risk of losing the FPS title. It is confirmed that Treyarch is working on a new project but will they up the ante to seriously compete against the future of FPS games such as Medal Of Honor as well.

The engine they use is poo. They would need to update it so much it wouldn't be anything similar to what it is now.

If Activision had more than one successful IP left, they could probably afford to let the franchise go for a couple of years to have their CoD studies collaborate on a new engine. Unfortunately, that one franchise supports the entire empire of crap production that is Activision.

I don't doubt that they can improve the engine, but it won't be looking better, or good as, Frostbite 2.0! I don't think Josh Olin said it that way, anyway.

One thing's for sure, they're WINNING! :P

Die By The Sword - still no game like it. Gray Matter was merged into Treyarch years ago. They worked on Kingpin, Cyberia, Redneck Rampage.

And not original, they worked on Return to Castle Wolfenstein, a Quake 2 expansion and many more.

The engine didn't look good in Black Ops (Just tried out the demo) in fact MW2 looked way better then that game did. So they better try harder with the same engine that they will always use because so far the BF3 trailers looks way better in terms of graphics engine.

l4d 2 vs mw 2 on pc is a tough one. very close imo. mw 2 definately has better hdr though.

They use a heavily modified Quake 3 engine, QUAKE 3!!! You can play that on a freaken browser for crying out loud. Time to upgrade or die Infinity!

Personally after BF:BC2 and Destruction 1.0+ I have a hard time playing games without destruction.

I am ready for Destruction 2.0...

Black Ops in alot of instances looks better than big majority of console shooters and its 60fps.It definitely looks better than BFBC2,man has to admit they did a great job with the engine that runs twice the speed of its rivals.

The fact that people hate it for just the sake of hating it is different ball game...

EDIT: I personally believe that the next treyarch game (release date of 10-11-12 most likely) will have a better engine then frost 2.0

They made spiderman. And to be honest, Spiderman 2 was my favorite game they've made, really original concept. Can't say the same for anything else though.
