Tri-Ace hint for a new Star Ocean game! SO5

Would be great to see another Star Ocean game coming even tho i havent even started with Star Ocean 4 yet which just came out for PS3 not too long ago :P.. in a Fench Magazine interview the director of Tri-Ace creator of Resonace of Fate and star Ocean hinted at a new Star Ocean is set to be coming when they'v been asked on why they let Sega publish Resonace of Fate and not Square Enix, the traslation for the interview ( "But it's not like if Square Enix had lost Tri-Ace for ever : they'll have the new Star Ocean after Resonance of Fate is out…" ).. you heard it guys.. Star Ocean 5 is coming! hopefully THIS TIME they dont go timed exclusive :evil:.. well take it as a rumor for now :P

Considering SOs creator said he did more work on the series than he wanted to and ultimately has no plans on working on it further more Ill remain VERY skeptical.

Considering SOs creator said he did more work on the series than he wanted to and ultimately has no plans on working on it further more Ill remain VERY skeptical.

True, he did say kinda hint at something about SO4 being the last on the star ocean games but who knows, the more the better i say :P.. hopefully not a handheld game and not timed exclusive like SO4 :x

After i finally got the chance to try out Star Ocean 4 the LAst hope i gotta say..battle system is great but characters.. their just not right, more like dolls, they better change that in the next SO game

i thought Star Ocean was over with. but then again whats the point of doing a reboot if your not going to make a sequel.

Id much rather they not Star ocean hasn't been good since Starocean 2 and conversly the Star ocean 1 remake, and the half remake port star ocean 2 for the psp.

They should bring a remake of blue sphere here or do some more Valkrye profile.

Haven't played SO4 yet, probably will never play it because of SO3.

I really didn't like SO3. It was one of the worst RPGs I've ever played (next Xenosaga). Combat was clunky, characters were annoying to the point I would just PK them out of existence-- oh and the ending, the ending was exceptionally bad.

Don't know if SO4 suffers the same problems, but judging by how it received lower scores than SO3-- I assume the worst. SO5 might go the same way...

I do agree that SO2 was the last fantasic game in the franchise, well only really, the rest have just been good. I can still go back and play that game over and over again.

No, I don't really have any nostalgia for it that blinds me as I didn't play the game until last generation and it wasn't close to be my first JRPG, more like 20:th really.

Please please please get some decent voice actors or even better, have Japanese voice option or just have text boxes. I dont want my ears to bleed again.

The current battle system is really good, so if they keep it similar and add a decent plot and characters it could turn out really good. The Last Hope is a pretty good game overall, but it's not one I'll remember forever. I'd definitely be up for another installment though.

I would like to see Star Ocean 5, I liked Star Ocean 4 on the 360, it was a pretty good JRPG. I wonder how many of the people who are bashing it really played the game.

It would be nice to see them not go that timed execluive route, and to see them bring it out on the PS3 and 360 at the same time.

Another timed exclusive JRPG for 360 in Japan would be suicidal considering the difference between install base of PS3 and 360 there and the fact that JRPGs sells way better on PS3 than 360.

I do want SO5, but not so soon.

On the other hand, i wouldnt mind another Infinite Undiscovery. If they cleaned it up and gave us JPN voices (or bearable english VO) and with the usual sequal upgrades, could easily be an AA quality game.

Nah i dont think we'll ever see that happening again :P, Square now knows that JRPG's do better on ps3 unless MS pays them to make it timed -_-. anyways as many poeple say i would love to see Valkyria Profile 3 coming before SO5

I played Eternal Sonata, Valkyria Chronicles, Last Rebillion, White Knight Chronicles, Disgaea 3, Cross Edge, Star Ocean 4 International, Demon Souls and hopefully soon FFXIII and many more!!

SO4 was decent, good gameplay, meh story, annoying characters.

I like the SO series, so a SO5 would be fine by me.
