What say you, System Wars? Do you like amassing a large number of points, or do you like to see your overall level rise? Which of the two do you find more addicting?

I second this statement that seconds that statement that seconds that statement above.Trophies. Because it shows how many games you completed. (Platinum trophies) Also, it breaks it down into categories, like how many hard ones you get (gold) medium (silver) and bronze (easy). It also has a level system. sethman410
I second this statement, why have a boring old number when you can have nice, shiny, nearly sorted, and multicoloured trophies! When I look at something like 5000 Gamerscore, I just go "..oh, that's big. Right? Is it?". But when you look at a giant, great looking, blue trophy; you go "WOAH! Nice job man!" same with a Gold one. It's human nature to like shiny things, Gamerscore is for aliens. Non-human aliens.

I don't find any of them addicting, but I do prefer trophies since they give a better overview of what has been achieved. It's pretty obvious that someone with a lot of bronze trophies and only a few silver and no gold/platinum trophies isn't finishing the games. What say you, System Wars? Screw them both lol. I used to care a bit, but its just lame.
PS - do I need massive achievement bubbles popping up when i am playing Mass Effect 2 (PC)? SO ANNOYING!
Trophies by far, I'd rather win a golden trophy than fricken 50 gamerscore
Although XBL has achievements implemented better (every game has them) you just can't really compare achievements to trophies

I don't like either, so to this day I avoid getting any achievements or trophies.

Achievements unlock stuff for your avatar as well. Depends on which game you are playing. I've unlocked quite a few things for my avatar from getting achievements.Trophies are better they sometimes give you Playstation Home stuff
Achievements give you nothing
Zurrur
Almost the same, except I like the sound and the way achievements are presented on screen as they are unlocked. For that sole reason, I choose achievements.

i second this statement that unsecond all the statements above :P who cares about achievements or trophies !!!I wish that they both didn't exist. Rather there should just be system that focused on games that you've completed and at what difficult.
In that regard, trophies breakdown things better. Looking at gamer points, you don't get a good idea of what a person has actually done un less you go in and check the progress and then what they got the points from..
With trophies, you can generally tell whether someone is actually beating their games based on gold and silver trophies.
I personally find trophies more addictive. I'm so obsessed with getting every trophy for all my games (well I have to atleast enjoy the game though) to get that damn platinum.
Now, I don't have a PS3 so I wouldn't know much about trophies but I think that platinums alone are enough to beat achievements, especially when the 100% completion is screwed up by DLC I will never get...EzekyleAbadonSame deal for Trophies I'm afraid.

Oh, I thought that the platinum was rewarded upon completion of the main trophies... Well then, they are absolutely the same as far as I am concerned
