"It took heavy inspiration from Zelda."
That's quite the understatement...
So did Star Fox when Star Fox Adventure Gamecube came out which also took inspiration from Zelda and look how that turn out.
Tunic ain't no Star Fox but a Fox boy who wants to be Zelda lol.
Played the demo a while ago and I knew straight ahead it was going to be excellent. Once I'm done with ER it's my next game.
Just bought it! $29.99 isn't a bad price I don't think. I bought it while at work, but the stupid Xbox App doesn't let you use touch screen controls to remote play :( Weird, considering I can remote play with the PS App.
@simple-facts: ouch...pretty sad when you think about it. Tunic >> HFW, and gt7
and yet you guys talked about sony coping zelda with hzd. its ok for xbox to do it but not sony? this game copies zelda 100%.
please don't compare this 16 bit game to gt7 and hzd2. it makes you guys look more desperate.
big difference in these games.
but yes tunic is the first game i download when I get the series s in a few weeks.

its free on gamepass though. Don't you have gamepass? As for the touch controls, I can't stand using touch controls on my phone, so I bought a razer kishi attachment. It works a million times better and its super compact, so you can easily carry it with you.

thought it was on gamepass. why did you buy it? I'm not marking you just curious.
these are the type of games that I wish sony had on ps now day one.
games like kena or f.i.s.t. the indie type games.
leaving bigger games like hzd2 or gow with price tag for development cost.

nothing wrong with copying. I think nintendo takes it as an honor that so many of its games are "copied", from zelda, to mario and to metroid. It is as they say, imitation being the sincerest form of flattery. In that case, so many games out there have paid homage to nintendo over the years and continue to do so. Add tunic to the list. Even the ER developer said he took heavy inspiration from BotW.
I personally never made fun of sony copying zelda with hzd. I was a bit annoyed when they coped smash bros because it was pretty much straight up clone, but I quickly got over it. The great thing about gaming is that copying happens so much and innovations happen after. Im sure nintendo also copies things from other games, which honestly is a big deal for that to happen since nintendo is so creative.

I am not into subscriptions. I am just old school is all. I wasn't going to actually play with my phone, I wanted to just dig down into the options and look around while at work.

I don't do Game Pass. Nor PS Now. Nor Netflix. Nor Hulu. Nor YouTube TV. Nor Disney+. Nor EA Play. Nor Ubisoft+. Nor Paramount+, nor the vast majority of other subs out there.
I have Xbox Live and PS Plus. Those are the only subs I have in my life.

sorry that was more for simple-facts. I quoted the wrong one.
but please don't compare hzd2 and gt7 to this game. much harder for developers to make a game on the level of hzd2 or gt7. so much more pressure when your trying to make a system steller or graphics and physics like gt7 and hzd2.
im not hating on tunic. its just not the same level of detail.
its like comparing forza to tunic.

yeah im old school to. why i still buy disks lol. I don't like subs either. ps now is a waste of my money I will admit.
glad to see someone else old school. the only time I bought digital was during the lock down.

I have considered going back to discs. I do have a feeling that the next gen will be digital only. But maybe not.
'game looks amazing'. I click link and see 16 bit indie Zelda clone. Maybe they posted the wrong video?
The kind of cheap filler i expect to see the gamepass being full off of.
Filler can be good. I enjoyed Kena Bridge of Spirits a lot.
Nice, I wasn't even aware it is coming out but will definitely start sometime soon, when I need a break from Elden Ring.

Proper video. I think your mom's underboob was blocking your view.

You think that looks amazing? What do you usually play games on? A frickin Gameboy?
@blueinheaven: its looks amazing for the type of game. I remember as a kid saying omg these graphics look so good. For a snes looking game like it's supposed to be. Key word there suppose to look. As a art style that I grew up with it looks great.
So it would have looked amazing if it came out 30 years ago? Okay, gotcha. Yeah, that's fair enough.
"It took heavy inspiration from Zelda."
That's quite the understatement...
In the review he says "it has less in common with Zelda and is more Souls-like".
@gifford38: I love smelling cases!
@gifford38: I haven’t even heard of fist.
@blueinheaven: I play games not graphics.
Just from that video review the combat looks significantly more challenging than Zelda, which is great since Zelda's combat is so piss easy like all of Nintendo's main franchises. Big point in Tunic's favor there. It looks nicely fluid and weighty too, these types of indie games usually tend to have floaty combat.
Graphics and textures look rather plain though. Nintendo might have weakass hardware with pop-in and jaggies out the wazoo but a least they usually manage appealing aesthetics.
@gifford38:
You are right you can't compare HFW and GT7 to tunic.
Tunic got a 9 the other 2 didn't 🤣🤣
Crying won't change a thing,but it's funny to watch

Nobody asked if you play games or graphics. The discussion was about an indie Zelda clone that the OP claims 'looks amazing'. I disagreed and you got your panties in a twist. That was the only point of discussion. Please at least try to keep up.
Got this on my wishlist. Great to see the game turned out well. And yeah, the Dark Souls influence was obvious from the gameplay videos I saw. This game is not for the faint of heart.
Hmm. Should I buy it at launch... ...I'm leaning towards yes, but I'm also leaning towards that way on Elden Ring as well. I'm still slowly recovering from my recent illness, and only just freed up enough time to start playing something other than Warframe yesterday. I don't want to pile too many games into my backlog.
