Turn 10"The scope of Forza 5 makes it nothing like the other launch games out there." When looking back at the best games a particular generation of consoles had to offer, youll often be hard pressed to find a single launch title that cracks the top 10. There a few standouts that people fondly remember, but the first batch of console software often lacks the polish, scope, and creativity to be considered among the best of the best. Forza 5, on the other hand, isnt your average launch title. At least, thats what Turn 10's Dan Greenawalt would like you to believe. "What you don't usually see at the launch of a console is a racing game like Forza Motorsport. Usually the flagship titles come along a bit later, because with these titles you expect epic scope and scale - you expect innovation, Greenawalt told OXM at a preview event. The racing developer has been able to hone its skills through four unique releases on Microsoft platforms, and thanks to plenty of development time on the Xbox One, this fifth attempt is shaping up to be the most ambitious of them all. "Racing gamers demand innovation across all of the different fronts, and usually the racing games at launch are fantastic, but they're a bit narrower in scope, he continued. It allows them to be very laser-focused on just hitting that date, and being a graphics showcase. This is a Forza Motorsport. This is big. So we've got innovation across the board.

Forza 5 will have innovation across the board. Forza 5 will be the only big racing game on Next Generation consoles at launch that will give you that Epic scale. That is how big it is. Gran Turismo is not yet ready for the true HD epic scaling, and has decided to release on the PS3, which shows the PS4 is not able to handle the massive amounts of innovation. Driveclub tries, but it seems to fall short trying to be the Jack of all trades without having a Sigz to its name. Forza 5 will reach the Forza 3 threshold and be one of the top racing game of the new generation for years to come. The fact this new Forza is optimized for the Xbox one at launch, and is a main flagship title, at launch, and comes bundled with EU pre-orders, at launch, will be selling the Xbox One like hot cakes like Gears did the 360's first year, and then in 2014, Halo 5 will pull another Halo 3. Gamers want that innovative epic scale in their games, and this is the first time in about nearly 15+ years that we has a launch have a title that went all out and was part of an established revolutionary franchise.

Do you even know what static is? Pong is static. Asteroids is static, Pac-man is static. How is Forza 99% static?

I don't get the fascination with day/night racing. How many races are at night time or start during the day and end at night? Not many and unless it effects driving physics I don't see the point. Is transitioning from day to night to give more/less grip or keep the engine temps down? Cows keep talking about day/night and dynamic lighting while obviously missing the main point of a racing sim, the actual physics. More proof cows ONLY care about graphics and not game play.

You must not watch any endurance races. Day/Night cycles and weather are extremely important in motorsports and weather definitely affects the physics and handling of a car. Go try driving at 190 mph in the rain and then suddenly brake and expect it to be the same as when the weather is sunny and dry. They'll probably be scraping parts of you from the pavement with a tooth brush. Weather is a very important aspect of racing.

Forza 5 looks pretty good and all, but I'm not sure what areas they're innovating in.

Endurance racing a small fraction of racing. In real life weather day/night racing effects physics but does it effect physics in EITHER game. Does driving at night have the exact same effect as driving during the day?

Day/Night doesn't affect physics but WEATHER does. ;) Why are you avoiding the weather aspect?

PS: Driving at night definitely affects your performance as a driver. Visibility is less and you have to be more careful when driving at night.

What effects does weather have in either game? Do the tires grip more when it's 60F as opposed to it being 90F+? I'm sure only rain really effects the physics which has been done in many numerous games.

[QUOTE="Kaz_Son"]Day/Night doesn't affect physics but WEATHER does. ;) Why are you avoiding the weather aspect?

PS: Driving at night definitely affects your performance as a driver. Visibility is less and you have to be more careful when driving at night.

Are you talking about real life racing or SIM racing? I have a feeling you're talking about real life which has NO business in this discussion since we're talking about SIMs.

Another idiotic statement from you. GT5: REAL LIFE: ^ ^ Watch this and tell me with a straight face that it's the same as day time driving

Actually I think you're a kid with minimul driving experience. Your reading comprehension is piss poor.

Forza is true innovation.  Gran Turismo 6 and 7 will still use PS2 car models and car sounds.  WTF?  Driveclub is made by the people who did motorstorm.  Do not want.

[QUOTE="Kaz_Son"][QUOTE="kingtito"] What effects does weather have in either game? Do the tires grip more when it's 60F as opposed to it being 90F+? I'm sure only rain really effects the physics which has been done in many numerous games. kingtito
Are you serious. You ever heard of hydroplaning kid? How can you say weather doesn't affect driving?

Are you really stupid and can't read? WTF did I say rain doesn't effect physics? I'm talking about Forza and Drive Club. What effect does weather have on either game?

Why are you talking about DC dipshit? DC is an arcade game not a sim like GT5 and Forza are supposed to be. :| I'm comparing Forza 5 to its direct competitor GT6. How can Forza be an innovative sim if it still doesn't have basics like Day/Night cycles and Weather?

[QUOTE="XboxFails"]Making your game 99% static has been done for a very long time. Where's the innovation?Kaz_Son

This.

-Still no day/night cycles in 2013 "sim".

-Still no weather.

 What a joke.

Are those supposed to be innovative features? Enjoy your GT6 with PS2 cars

Because dumb@ss you keep bringing up day/night racing since we're talking about Forza 5 and you're obviously referring to DC. All you cows ever bring up is DC and it's dynamic lighting day/night racing. Don't pretend to be talking about GT6 all of a sudden when you've never mentioned it.

Besides we all know Forza>>>>GT(insert number)

No you idiot, I'm referring to Forza and GT5. GT5 a PS3 game has day/night and weather. I know you lems still haven't experienced dynamic weather and day/night cycles in your static Forza but it's hardly a nextgen feature. Just because I mention basic lastgen features that Forza doesn't have it doesn't mean I'm bring up Driveclub you moron.

Why would I even compare both games? It's like comparing apples and oranges. Forza is a sim like GT and DC is an arcade racer.

Jrpg Namco Bandai Europe has confirmed that the Ni no Kuni franchise has sold 1.4 million units. This includes Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, which was released exclusively for the Nintendo DS in Japan in December 2010, and was later released for PS3 worldwide, which was made available in the West last January. Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, a story of a boy travelling between two worlds on a quest to save his mother, was developed by the Japanese development studio LEVEL-5, who was responsible for other amazing RPG titles such as Dark Cloud and Rogue Galaxy. The game's animations and cut-scenes were produced and supervied by Studio Ghibli, and its music by Joe Hisaishi. We are very proud to join our partner, LEVEL-5, to announce that the critically acclaimed role-playing game series, Ni no Kuni, has approximately reached the 1.4 million units sold worldwide. The franchise has been very well received in EMEA and as a result of its quality, has reached an amazing number of sales for a JRPG, said Olivier Comte, Senior Vice-President of NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe. CaseyWegner

1.4 mill in about 5 years I think they are overexaggerrating the success there, but it's not bad. The series is self is decent and if they keep with the new releases then it could become the replacement for Final Fantasy in the Jrpg sce- that is not happening. Good job for the 1.4 in around 5 years..... I mean, Jrpgs have been selling quite badly lately so this is a nice change.

:?

someone get this guy a caldendar and a calculator!
