Twilight Princess vs Skyward Sword: Which is the better game?

[spoiler] Let's see how true the Zelda cycle really is. [/spoiler]

It's been roughly a month since Skyward Sword released, and I figured this would be a good time to ask all of you if you find Twilight Princess better or Skyward Sword.

Personally, I just started out with Skyward Sword. I've only played it a few hours, and while I like the way the game starts, right now, the game is sitting at a solid 8 from me (though there was one moment of brilliance). The graphics, music and characterization are charming, and I'm intrigued by the plot. The motion controls work fine, but there are too many things the game is doing wrong. We'll see how I find it eventually, but I wanted to know what the fanbase in general thinks of the game.

Skyward Sword? Or Twilight Princess?

i just got to the third explorable area. this game is better that TP so far, and if it keeps this pacing, it might be better than wind waker.

I haven't played SS yet, but I just wanted to comment on this thread. :P

Haven't played SS and don't intend to anytime soon, so I voted TP :P (which I did play and liked, although still don't think it's better than either Wind Waker or OOT).

SS was overall a better game than TP in almost every conceivable way but the charm and style of TP put it above SS for me. To me TP has always been and always will be that E3 demo that everyone when nuts over, TP didn't disappoint. Fans (specifically Zelda) are never pleased.

Seeing how I only completed one of these, IMO Skyward sword is a far better game and much more enjoyable one too.I hated TP.

It took me until I beat SS to come up with that verdict. I love both games, and they each have their strengths, but I have to give the edge to SS.

I prefered TP, and it wasnt even one of my favorite zelda games, I think one of the reasons I hate SS, is I just dont like the motion controls. They are more of a hassle to me then fun, I would prefer SS with a GC controller. Not a fan of motion on any system.

I'm 30 hours into Skyward Sword and I won't make the call until I've completed it.

Gave some love to TP because I haven't played SS yet.

Overall I'd say SS was better than TP in alot of areas, especially in terms of bosses and combat.Shinobishyguy

Skyward Sword by far, I didn't really like the whole "twilight and dark" theme of TP. Skyward Sword has better controls, better dungeons, and even some interesting side quests. :P

IMHO Twilight Princess is the greatest Zelda game of all time.

This is a topic about the Wii... Infact it really could go on the Wii board but you could say GC vs Wii.

Anyways Uncharted vs Zelda is system wars.

I'm only going to the 3rd Temple in Skyward Sword....but I'm going to already tell you that Twilight Princess had a lot more exploration.

Played and loved Twilight Princess, still working my way through Skyward Sword, so it's hard to give a final call at this point.

I will say though that if things keep up with Skyward Sword, that will be the victor. The combat, pacing, boss fights and characters are all superior in Skyward Sword. Both have wonderful level design, though the expanded and elaborate mini dungeons and temple lobby areas in Skyward Sword are certainly a bonus. I remember there were a few forgettable dungeons in Twilight Princess towards the end, we'll see what happens with Skyward Sword.

Skyward Sword is technically a tighter product but I like Twilight Princess more. The game had a certain charm that was lost in Skyward Sword. I also loved the grandiose but brooding atmosphere.

Majora's Mask is the best for its time, but TP is air tight combat, control and polish wise. Not to say MM hasn't aged beautifully, because it has.

If Nintendo Re-made MM for the Wii U I would have a heart attack. :P
