I'm not sure why there hasn't been a topic yet. Why aren't you cows interested in your exclusives? I'm downloading it now and I'll try it out in a few minutes. You should do the same.
Personally didn't like the controls, and I didn't like the pace of it. I guess I thought I was up for the fast paced action, but I'm not. Not the game's fault per say of course. The demo actually convinced me to cancel my pre-order. Just not the game I wanted, but no fault of its own (other than odd controls, I mean Square to drive?)
Demo sucks. Nothing to talk about. If you have played one twisted metal game, you have played them all. Plus a lot of us have decided not to get the game due to it supporting online pass.
Controls are great. If you're having problems, there's a diagram in the options menu. My only concern is that vehicles are no longer character specific. I liked the ironic backstories of the main characters in past games. If I understand correctly, there's only going to be four characters. Quite a drop from the 15? characters in Twisted Metal Black. [spoiler] And for some reason they turned Mr. Grimm from a Vietnam POW to...a black daredevil? [/spoiler]
It's pretty fun, controls are a bit iffy and it takes a while to get good at it. This is from someone who hasn't played one of these games before.soulitane

Thats the classic controls. I guess there will be more options in the future. But at least the game caters to the veterans first
the whole reason the franchise went downhill is because 989 studios took over with part 3 and they changed the controls and the game turned slower paced.
Square is gas because X is used for sharp turns, which you should be doing OFTEN. L2 is Machine Gun. R2 is Special Weapon. L1/R1 cycle through special weapons. L1+R1 is jump. Look at the diagram for everything else. The learning curve is not very high.

I cant wait to try it out for myself! I've been looking forward to a next gen Twisted Metal for a long time! I'm going to play a game that interests me, first and foremost, before I ever listen to what some random trolls have to negatively say about that game over the internet. And only then will I make up MY DECISION if the game is good or worth buying! Anyway, I'm going to start downloading this demo a.s.a.p
So interesting.. I wasnt really even looking at this game seriously until the demo.. Now I think its a must buy.. but most of this thread is negative feedback. Im having a blast in the demo. Cant wait for team based game modes with a few of my buds. Go Twisted Metal... Well played, in my opinion.

You should do the same. as a cow i grew VERY bored from all these exclusives. Twisted metaL? what is next? Destruction derby? Sure sony has tons of 1st party games but they are certainly NOT as must-play as Ps3 owners appear it to be. this applies to almost every single exclusive. Next gen i ll consider it to buy a playstation console again. IF i have the money i ll propably return to pc gaming.
After playing the demo for a bit I think I'm gonna rent it for a while before I decide if it's purchase worthy. Not sure if I like the controls, and the maps need to be bigger than in the demo.
