Two Worlds and Lair/BD have taught us something

Two Worlds- Other review scores don't mean ****.

Lair/BD- Hype and pretty graphics also do not mean ****.

Learn these lessons well.

I had to see it to believe it when I remember you making that thread about Two Worlds. The game is garbage. It's F quality and the game shouldn't even exist. Just like Lair. Blue Dragon I've play for a little bit and the game, be it a cookie cutter rpg, is pretty fun. English voice acting sucks. Thank god for the japanese language.

Agreed. Two Worlds is pretty damn awful.

Blue Dragon is sorta generic, but some of the mini-games like using the gun on the mechat or just flying the mechat keeps the experience feeling sorta fresh. I really am enjoying the game. I can't see how it got a 6.0.

exactly, i have BD its a good game its generic but it doesn't deserve a 6.0 just for that.. i mean two worlds isnt innovative at all either yet it gets a higher score...

I have played it for a few hours and it does not seem like a 6 to me. I also have to say that I do not agree with these other more recent reviews: MP3, Brave Story (PSP), Jeanne D'Arc (PSP). These games were very underrated imo.

Yup, Two Worlds is nothing new. It's just a combination of Diablo and Morrowind. It's a technical mess.

Blue Dragon is nothing new, but does offer some new mini-games that I've never seen in a JRPG, and it's just a good solid game.

Gametrailers gave it a good fair review score of 7.5. I've been more trusting with their reviews than anyone else lately.

I think it is hard for a lot of us to be taught this lesson because we really don't want to learn from it deep down. We like to hype games more than we should because it is fun.The thoughts about a game being awesome is more appealing than just waiting around for the games to come out then get reviewed. The flop score will only sting a little bit and then it will soon be forgotten because of the enjoyment we get from talking about upcoming games.

It makes this place more interesting. It is fun to have flops here , otherwise I probably wouldn't hang around. Imagine not talking about upcominggames unless they were the cream of the crop.It would only be a handful of games we would be discussing.That would be a borefest. We need a certain level of hype and we need a certain amount of flops.

Haha, I'm playing the same exact games as you, but with Lair thrown in there. Both Brave Story and Jeanne D'Arc are two of the best PSP titles I've played.

Given the standards being lower for Wii games, I think MP3 should have been a 9.5. The game really sells me on the Wiimote as a controller and the game is just pretty much perfect. I haven't noticed any flaws.

yeah pretty much i got the exact same feeling i am about seven hours into it. The plot is slow going like the review said but i mean a 6.0 game to me is something pretty bad like madden 06. Blue Dragon is actually a solid game. I mean overlord got a 7.5 and its not that innovative at all.

I agree completely with that and that is why me and a lot of people are digging this game right now. It's much more a pure RPG than Oblivion ever was.

I bought it because I dig that combination of Diablo/Morrowind, but sadly the technical flaws turned me off. I'm still playing it, but it's no 7/10.

Cowicide? I am not expecting HS to score high. only Halo 3 will score well in September. October will be the first handheld AAA. Zelda FTW!!!
