Sales figures for the North American region are notoriously harder to get than those for The United Kingdom and Japan, but according to a member on NeoGAFs forums who is usually right about NPD sales figures, Splinter Cell: Blacklist for Wii U accounted for only 1.6% of total sales for the title. This is depressingly low compared to the Xbox 360 version, which is said to account for around 70% of sales.
Of course these figures dont include any digital purchases that may have been made on any platform, console or PC. However, putting sales figures numbers to percentages means that 1.6% of sales is around 5,000 copies. For those who were having trouble finding this title at GameStop, this is likely why. Single copies were rumored to be sent to locations and once that copy was sold, thats it for the title.
Hopefully Ubisoft wont see these abysmal sales figures as a reason to stop supporting the Wii U with its AAA titles, as that would leave Activision as the only major publisher left that supports the platform
