X1 is piggybacking some of the CPU power from mostly Intel Xeon (Intel Core i7 Sandybridge/Ivybridge class) based servers.

It sounds like the 8 core AMD Jaguar @ 1.6Ghz is gimping the GPU.

Radeon HD 7970M can be gimped to Geforce GT650M level power by using AMD "Trinity" A10-4600 e.g. MSI GX60 laptop. Intel Core i7 Quad Mobile version with 7970M is almost twice as fast when compared to GX60.

If you want peek CPU performance, the only choice is Intel. AMD Streamroller seats between Intel Sandybridge and Intel Ivybridge.

I looked at MSI GX60 and wasn't impressed with the result i.e. the GPU bias went to far and gimped the GPU.

GX60 laptop is basically similar to PS4 hardware.

Ubisoft has indicated the CPU issue with X1's APU and it has the same 8 core AMD Jaguar on PS4. The problem wasn't the GPU.
