Not sure if already posted but i found this interesting.
Ubisoft confirms that they wont be making any random games anymore and that every game they make and will make from now on will be turned into franchises, it is too expensive to create new games without having them turned into franchises says Ubisoft.

This is both good and bad in my opinion, if we will see Beyond good and Evil 2 it will mean we'll get 3 and 4 but at the same time it might mean we wont ever see beyond good and evil 2

Ubisoft is a for-profit business, if they don't make games that will sell they will not make any games. Same goes for every other video game developer and producer in the industry.Yes, every company is in business to make money. That doesnt excuse trying to make new games though as you seem to think it does. Unless of course you want every game developer to be like ubisoft, nintendo and activision where they only try to make games they can release annual releases on and never give a one shot game a chance like the last of us.
Speaking of last of us, that was a one time game that didnt have a franchise behind it and its been selling like gangbusters. Dishonored. The walking dead. Minecraft. All really great games that came out despite not being part of a franchise. Even great game franchises had to start with an original game.
If ubisoft never made a new game then they will never find a new franchise.
All this tells me is ubisoft is only about money. They dont want to make great games. If they actually wanted to make great games they would continue making new ones and try to insure they were actually of good quality.
