well before there was splinter cell, which was kind of a disappointment as its no longer really a stealth game, which was so cool about the past games, although it still looks really fun as a shooter with "Stealth elements" to it.
Seriously, that press conference SUCKED BIG TIME! When the most exciting part of a press conference is 20 minutes of James Cameron rambling jargon about technology and blue native American aliens, you know something is going horribly wrong. The one highlight for the whole mess was seeing Splinter Cell Conviction running, which is pretty meaningless since it's exclusive from PS3 (not "exclusive to Xbox 360 and PC," because that statement is incredibly patronizing). When they FINALLY got to the Assassin's Creed 2 footage at the end, THEY DIDN'T EVEN SHOW THE EFFING GAME! They showed a 5 minute long CG movie that probably cost as much to make as 3 good games, and then they ended with "thank you for putting up with our derrivative corporate crap for an hour, and good night." They didn't show one frame of Ass Creed 2 or the Avatar game's footage, and yet they both got standing ovations for no reason. No wonder Ubi-Soft has sold out so miserably in recent years-- stupid people are willing to gobble up whatever garbage they spew out out their butts.
Yea..I expected it to be there. Quite an anti-climatic day for me personally. I have no faith in Nintendo for tomorrow, so all my hope rests with Sony.

Conviction looks absolutely AMAZING! And the CG trailer for AC2 looks interesing (coming from someone who absolutely HATED the first one and still hasn't finished it and doesn't care too). The only problem I have with Conviction is: Ubi is making it. If they make it like AC and FC2 then ... its not even worthy of a purchase.

EA's conference was a rapid succession of game trailers and short but sweet speeches about them. There were some crappy games in there, sure, but they went through their lineup so quickly and had so many games that it didn't matter. Ubisoft's conference felt even LONGER than EA's even though at best, they had half as many games, and most of them didn't even have any accompanying footage! That was pathetic, and Ubisoft should be ashamed for putting on such a lousy show. They don't have to feel ashamed though, because people seemed more than happy to applaud for 2 hours of speeches peppered with about 20 minutes of pre-rendered CG and about 10 minutes of actual gameplay.
What I don't understand is that they have the time to stand around and TALK about a game and "ground breaking" technology yet showing nothing of it and show us Imagine. But they doesn't announce ANYTHING new and the presence of Beyond Good And Evil was Zero? I mean when will BGaE2 get the attention it deserves?

On the subject on Splinter Cell. I just got finished playing some Double Agent versus and I pray that they don't s*** on the versus for Conviction.

It was really that aweful? Glad I missed it then. Thanks for summing it all up. One question to anyone was SC:Conviction the only Clancy game they showed? If so I glad they aren't whoring out all their franchises like they normaly do Vegas 2 still leave's a bitter taste in my mouth damn expansion.
It was indeed boring, there were still some good stuffs like Red Steel 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction (specially that its coming to the PC) and of course AC2, but the one that actually impress me was that Fitness game, looks good and interesting.
