Ubisoft: Xbox 360 will never be a family console, PS3 might become one

Speaking in a recent interview, the executive producer of Ubisoft's Games for Everyone range commented that she does not think the Xbox 360 can become a real family console despite Microsoft's best efforts. However, she indicated that there is more chance for the PS3 to become a family console particularly in the US market, but ultimately it depends on the content and peripherals that come out for both systems.

Microsoft should be honored then. Ubi considers Wii a "family console" and look what kinds of stuff it puts out on the platform. :/metroidfood

sry but you've obviously never played yugioh, or dual masters..ect and though i think those card games are stupid...ect infinitely large amounts of kids 8-14..ect play them and they are deep when it comes to rules...ect

Just because a game has depth doesn't mean it cant be kiddy, kids these days understand deep concepts, often better then adults do.

I agree but I find that R&C is way better for kids then viva pinata.

I can live with that, my income is not affected by the 360 not getting market penetration and devs like to make games for it and are not even close to abandoning it.

For me it looks like win/win.

When I think about a Family Console, the PS3 does not come to mind at all. I mean have you've seen the Adult 18+ PS3 themes you can download, wow.

Yes, but it also has a simplistic approach for the casual market. Same thing with a lot of Nintendo's classic franchises, they have casual appeal, and hardcore appeal.
