The PS1 look kinda odd to me personally. I think it was cuz of how the disk drive worked. But honestly, nearly all the old consoles looked big and bulky.
PS1 looked great I think. It was all downhill from there though. PS2 was quite ugly and the PS3 is horrible looking. The PS1 look kinda odd to me personally. I think it was cuz of how the disk drive worked. But honestly, nearly all the old consoles looked big and bulky.

Xbox or X360. really ugly consoles.xxThyLordxx
thats why the 360 got a design award in japan
XBox 360 awarded Good Design Award... in Japan!
This is surprising. I didn't know that the XBox 360 case was designed by a Japanese design lab.
The machine was designed by Hers Experimental design lab. in Japan, lead by Mr. Chiaki Murata and Astro Studio in the US, under the direction of Microsoft's Jonathan Hayes. From the start of the project to its final design, Microsoft constantly tested the design with users all over the world. With this technique, they have been able to create something that appeals not only to the Japanese consumer, but to people all across the globe. The simple, curved design contrasts starkly with the major processing power inside the machine, and gives a refined look that can be coordinated with any interior. Their words, not ours.

IMHO, the top loader NES. It's in demand since it didn't have a spring mechanism like the original NES and thus it couldn't wear out, but god... It's like it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. Plus the controllers sucked compared to the originals.
Now imagine a comparatively gigantic looking NES cartridge poking out of that door on the little hump.

I never even KNEW there was an NES design like that :o Was it released when SNES was new? The controller design seems to be influenced by that. But I've never seen such a mismatching of continuity in case design. It's like 3 different products fused into one mishapen monster, ughh. Â

Yes, it was released after the SNES. I think a year or two later. By that time the NES was pretty much geriatric, so there wasn't much advertising outside maybe Nintendo Power. Please Log In to post.
